I think it looks good with just the lip. The side and rear skirts looks way too tacky for my taste.

If you get the sideskirts then you got to drill the body. I don't want more rust in salt country here so I only rock the front lip.

If you run 17" wheels and not 18" then it will look good like a FD RX7, or classic 90's factory look in general. 18" wheels I think you should get the full body kit to look good.

If you look at STI brochures over the years, they always showed one car with just the front lip, along with another car with the full body kit.

I feel the same way. Back in the day, a front lip was all you needed.

Here's a pic of my car for reference; 17" wheels with only the front lip.

Interesting. I had just the front lip on for a significant amount of time and to me it always felt empty and as if it was missing something. Now that I have the entire STi aero kit to boot with the OEM diffuser and gurney flap I couldn't see myself going with an incomplete kit ever again.

Exactly. Front or frontside pictures look nice. However, if you look the car from the side it is missing something. Especially if the color is not black or grey. Besides, I don't see the purpose of installing just the front lip. Does it provide any downforce in reasonable speeds? Even the BMW M-cars here, don't have a front lip and they are driven in the autobahn with more than 150mph. Personally, I would install the front lip if I wanted to have a uniform look with the side and rear skirts or if I had the STI rear wing.

By the way, I 've also seen the STI cars just with the front lip. I think they are doing it for cost reasons.

But don't you guys find that the full body kit would make the wheels look smaller?

My neighbor has the Series.Blue and I always find that his 17" STI wheels look a tad small on his car compare to mine.

I think originally STI only sold a front lip for the BRZ, but people wanted a more complete look so they later came out with the side skirts and even later on the rear sides. On their Japanese page, only the front lip and the rear spoiler and gurney flap mentioned wind tunnel testing. I always wonder if the sides actually work.

Perhaps you're right as I've definitely noticed the same in their promotional materials of having just the lip applied. As for your neighbor, I completely agree it does make the 17 inch wheels look dwarfed. However, that is why I have the 18 inch STi Enkei's from the tS that I will be using when the time comes. It all comes down to personal preference though!

LOL seriously when did he become such a BRZ enthusiast? I had to do a double-take when I saw he wrote this about the BRZ:

It's also a hell of a lot of a fun. Come with me as I talk you through Shenandoah and the changes made for 2017 to one of the all-time great entry-level trackday cars.... It's really the complete package; everything in balance. You could spend your first five years with it, or your first fifty days on-track as a driver, refining your capabilities to match your own.
