Yea, I remember when I was about 10 my Dad would give me a dollar to go get gas for the lawn mower. I would take my bike with the gallon can and fill it up at the Shell station, then stop at the liquor store next to Alpha Beta and get a big Pepsi in a bottle and a candy bar and still have a small bit of change, then go back in and get a nickel back for the bottle. Boy times have changed.

Hell, I did the same thing, in hay tunnels and all that jazz.
That's what country kids do.

I dunno. Maybe it's not all that different. A country boy can grow up and move to the city but a city boy will never make it in the country.

Yep. I still recall vividly the day my sister, baby brother and I were playing around in the hay loft of one of my Grandfather's barns that had a combination hay loft, tobacco barn with a milk room in it.
My brother (was about 6 at the time) took a wrong step fell through the floor 10 feet and landed in a half full feed barrel (actual used whiskey barrel full of sweet feed). When he landed he bit all the way through his cheek (you could see through the hole, had a scar there the rest of his life). Had he not fallen in the barrel though, he would have hit a concrete floor and probably done much worse damage. Agh, good times!

They used to charge you an extra penny to put lead in the gas, now they charge you an extra penny to take it back out again! Goddamn scam artists.

People keep complaining about the lack of power but I have not thought I would see a thread that is complaining about mpg. I use 91 octane non-ethanol gas. Even though I never drive my FR-S like a Prius, my mpg is consistently ~30 in the city, 34+ highway. This is excellent mpg for a 200 hp sports car especially when compared to a 130 hp Corolla with 30 mpg in city or Civic with 31 mpg.

These cars get up to operating temperature fairly slowly. I doubt that the fuel figures published take this into account. I'm looking for a way to get it to warm up more rapidly and thus reduce fuel consumption, without any downside. Any ideas?

Run an oil-to-water oil cooler. Keeps oil temps down and heats oil up faster on startup.
