Torry, I m agree : there is a lot of HKS kit that work well.

But for only 2 or 3 problems, HKS give no reason, just "Yes it is under warranty" or "no it isn't". So some ideas can come up ...

My car is sleeping in my garage all year at 20/25°C. I see no snow & no ice.
But my supercharger stopped to turn, even if the belt & the pulley ran normally. sic!

what is the viscosity rating for the hks traction fluid? is there an alternative fluid like the rotrex sx100 or sx150? or a gear lube? i cant justify the price for that fluid an filter replacement.

has anyone run an alternative fluid? ad how long?

it's traction fluid, not lubricating oil.

We don't know exact specification for HKS traction fluid,
and We don't know about alternative.

Basically, both HKS and Rorex use traction fluid for their supercharger.

there are some traction fluid like, Santotrac, idemitsu .

and there are some guys who use Nissan Extroid CVT fluid for rotrex supercharger in Japan.

I am guessing it has similar properties to automatic transmission fluid. A member here in Russia (Efferalgan) said he knows someone using the Rotrex fluid but otherwise nobody has been willing to risk it.

The filter can be purchased from Jackson racing and it is an auto trans fluid filter

so is the rotrex sx150 the same as the hks traction fluid? because there is a huge price difference. i also see a 1L traction fluid option and 800mL options with high and low viscosity options from hks...

Since the SC itself doesn't have any electrical parts and is pretty much sealed construction, I don't think engine wash would cause any problems with the SC. Always prefer to do the "steam wash" though rather than pouring cold water right into the engine bay...

Yeah I was thinking about washing my engine with a hot steam.
I didn't find any electric part too in the manual installation.
Thank you.

Thanks, that could be a good idea. I'm waiting on HKS Japan to get back with me on a couple of the part numbers so I can complete a table like this. When I get all the info, I'll put up a table on the HKSUSA website for reference.
