Interior pic of mine. The alcantara is not an issue, and the plastic is less plastic than the FR-S.

My "test drive" today. Have to say it went well. The 86 can easily add 10 to 20 MPH or more to sections of road that had the FR-S a bit unhappy.

Why are all these reviews being done with a raft of TRD parts? How about stock first, then swap parts.

I'm kind of bummed the 86 doesn't have the new spoiler available. The FRS spoiler looks out of place.

It's 1 unit of Auto 1 unit of Manual stock, 1 unit of auto with TRD and 1 unit with Manual TRD.

4 unit total, It's up to the outfit to choose which one they want and we have to work to take turns. This drive wasn't just for 86 it also has other Toyota cars.

We obviously chose white with TRD in Manual.

Reason is we already reviewed a stock BRZ as comparison.

If we review a normal 86 you'll highly likely get similar results as the BRZ so we chose something different.

It's sad, but tbh most of the TRD part with exception to the wheels sorta are pretty much everything from the FRS I'm not even sure if they changed a lot of things, maybe the springs? the wheels are basically RS2 wheels with new caps.

The spoiler is FRS but I think it goes well in person.

I also found out why it's 800$ more than a BRZ premium beside the stuff we speculated before.

It's because Toyota offered "free" maintenance for two years apprantely it's included with the car. Not bad since the BRZ doesn't have that you'll have to add stuff at the dealer for it. Even if you sorta paid for it...

Food for thought.

I believe it depends on the dealer, mine was a $895 add on during the financing phase. I only got the GAP, I don't really need it I've always worked on my own car. I'm sure they are some others that didn't get it for free either.

Edit: I took a look into our old thread on this topic, seems lots of folks got and and many didn't either. The ones that didn't seem isolated to east coast. Haha trying to help Toyota out here but I guess were back to square one

i also want to add:

the optional TRD wheels are the same as the RS2 but in a different finish. The RS2 had a chrome black finish while this is gunmetal.

Are you 100% sure? Even RS2 rims looks a bit gunmetalish on photos (even they are advertised as black gloos).

BTW I think these RS2/TRD rims are probably the best looking rims considered the best specs on these cars. Love them.

Darn, I imagine that's USA only because that wasn't mentioned at all when I bought one in Canada.

I agree, if Toyota had the performance package I would have a much harder time choosing between 86 and BRZ.

Yup, the TRD wheels on the RS2 are the same specs and design as these but it's more black chrome/shiny black than this flat gunmetal color.
