Should have called in, an on duty officer will come to the scene regardless of the office being closed. The less you mess with it the better if charges are to be filed.

While there are products to fully clean your car removing all remanents of this guy's DNA, you'll always know it's been on your door handle. This would bug me to no end.
BTW, what did you use to wash your own hands? Hope you didn't touch your face or something afterwards.
