I'm also interested in this. Although you guys are pushing the car to limits that most of us will never reach, I'm sure that the rigours of daily driving can be just as detrimental of the long term and could make upgrades on older cars difficult if the hardpoints are in bad shape....

The factory control arms are also designed as a failure point. If you hit a curb on the street and destroy the control arm it's easy to replace. If you damage the pick-up points and the frame you are going to need a very skilled welder to put the car back together. The chances of getting everything bent back exactly as before are slim, and a slight difference in those mounts will make a big change in the caster on that side.

How is the car on tires? Did the stock setup heat or wear them unevenly?

I hope your right on this, much rather have the arms fail than the pick up points arms are easy to replace

Great writeup..

Funny because back in the MotoIQ article 6+ months ago, when they showed pics of the LCA's and said "this is the lightweight suspensions" yadda yadda..

FIRST thought in my mind was "they left too little material in the R&D and with a updated set of slop-free bushings you'll be cracking hardware left and right because it just wasn't designed to deal with any sort of hard impact.

Current spring rates on the coilovers is:
Front: 8kg
Rear: 10kg

This is with the RE11's.

We are thinking of moving to Hankook tires. They will be grippier than the RE11's, so we are thinking of upping the fronts to 9kg, as they are already feeling a touch soft.

what was the reason for running the heavier springs in the rear? seems interesting given that the weight dist. is almost 50/50 and if anything slightly front heavy.

Motion ratio is different front and rear.
