If the OP cant tell the difference between E85 and 85 octane, maybe he should try the GREEN handle next just for some variety.

I have one car that can ONLY use the Green handle, one car that can use any octane gas, one that prefers 92 or higher, one that will blow up if you use anything less than 100 octane, and one that will run like shit if I use ANY Ethanol.

So all gas is about the same right???

This thread finally got interesting.

If I was the OP and was so worried ... I would have siphoned most of the gas out. Believe that was brought up on post 2 or 3.

Nobody said all gas is about the same. The guy screwed up but there will be no damage done with one tank of either type. No doubt he will pay more attention moving forward.

Zero reason to siphon any gas out. That would be a gross over reaction to a very minor issue.

I was just making the point that there ARE many different types of gas out there.

I have accidentally put Diesel in a Gas generator (ONE of our four gensets on a const site was Gas, the other 3 diesel).

I have also warned someone that they just put diesel in their gas car (no idea HOW because the nozzle should not fit) and watched them stall 20 feet after driving away and wondered why it wouldn't start.

And if I put anything less than ~105 Octane in my 13/1 compression ratio Triumph TR4 it will blow up - literally.

So now that we have made fun of the OP I am sure he will be more careful next time. :Slap:

Be advised, that their are gas stations in Missouri, that the BLACK booted handle is diesel and the GREEN booted handle is gasoline.

Yep, that's a fact ....... and I don't wanna talk about that girl in Missouri that commented to me "mister, are you sure you want to put diesel in that car" ..... ?? .....

Hey pretty sure I'm good. I looked up e85 gas pumps online and it didn't look like the ones that showed up. So had to just have been 85 octane

Be prepared for that massive surge of power once your timing goes back to normal.
