A great time to be buying 16's that's for sure if you could care less about "new" and "improved". I was offered 29K OTD with TRD exhaust included.

You'll miss out on LED HIDS, taillights and emblem.

Yeah, that's super lame. I wonder if it is standard on the 17 BRZ?

On the Limited yes. On the Premium no.

Edit: I took to long!

The only thing I hate is that the BRZ Limited starts at $27,645 msrp with all the good stuff (dual climate control, dash screen, push button start, fog lights) while the 86 will probaby cost $29k if they do introduce a monogram/monospec/gts series with all the additional stuff.

No joke. After living with a Tesla Model S for the past two days I want NOTHING to do with suede/Alcantara dash or panel surfaces! Horrible.

That's what I did at the end of June when I got the full 411 on the 2017 model, and I'm feeling very good about the decision. Upgraded the projectors, added some other items (trunk lid liner, hood struts, some various TRD bits) and missing nothing that's on the 17. Especially the fake suede dash panels, hideous front clip, stick-on 86 front fender logos and the Subaru crappy fake vents instead of the classic Piston badges.

And here's a fun article on the subject.

the 2017 starts at $26,225 and if a special eddition comes along, expect it to be along the the Series Blue/Hyperblue/Series Yellow BRZ

I'm aware of that. The BRZ premium starts at $25,495 which is at the same level of the $26,255 of the 86 that you mentioned. The BRZ limited starts at $27,645 with the good stuff that the 86 monogram/monospec/gts will have if they do release one.

The "special edition" you're talking about is comparable to the Release Series of the FR-S, not the monogram series. The monogram series for the FR-S is comparable to the Limited edition of the BRZ

I'm still on the fence with the goose-neck spoilers but the car otherwise looks phenomenal
