If you ever wondered about safety of the BRZ

As the the title suggests,if you ever wondered how safe the BRZ is, than I can attest to it. The accident is from 2013, but still holds true.

Got out of the BRZ world once I lost and did some soul searching which included having a MK4 Supra for a while, but have returned back to it. Currently waiting for the 2017 BRZ I preordered. Cant wait to get back into it.

Holy crap man. Glad you are ok! (even though it was awhile ago). Glad to know there is real world evidence that this car can still be safe. Welcome back to the community! What color are you getting?

That doesn't look that bad. The hood would fold just as I would expect. Pretty sure that car is on the street this day. Just a new front end frame work.

You want to see safety? Look up Russian car crash vids.

Why didn't the front car get much damage? The impact got mostly absorbed by the BRZ. May not be a bad thing.

One thing that drives me nuts is when someone gets a huge assed car/truck and proclaims- this is the SAFEST car on the road! Look how much steel is around you! I wouldn't be caught dead in one of those little cars, they are death traps.

DESIGN is where safety comes from, not steel. Some of the least safe cars in history have been huge cars because they are designed poorly. You can point to stats to these "bigger is safer" crowd and they will give you the deer-in-the-deadlights stare. Subaru makes small but safe cars and have for many years.

Going with the WRB, black has sort of become bad juju for me.

The crash incidentally was from being forced off the road by another SUV who clearly was on something. My BRZ became salvaged and crushed within 2 weeks so not going to be on the road

When I first bought her

I was inspired by B is for build project I'm amazed how solid our cars are. I wouldn't be surprised a good bulk of those getting totaled are being restored just like mines.

The amusing truth behind this is a fairly alarming chunk of the 2016 MY trucks on the road are only achieving marginal NHTSA ratings. The one that stands out as stellar this year in safety is the new aluminum F-150 that everyone loves to hate because it's so "fragile".
