This actually jives more with what I've seen; a few of each color...all ~2500 miles away on the west coast.

Yup, batch manufacturing isn't done very often these days. They may build all the yellow RS1.0 over the same time period, but it isn't all in a row. Heijunka is the term we use.

I'm never listening to dealer's rationalizations again...ever. But i will say I've only seen white red and silver for the 86 and some wrb for the brz.

If they did not do enough people would hate, sometimes you cant win. Its not perfect but its a very nice car for the money, and I have to think Toyota created this new look with purpose.
If i was in the market for a new car, I'd buy the 86 facelift.

After 2 years of driving the car I still have never seen a blue or red one in the wild! Just the chance of what drives by.

So the standard 86 in the US doesn't get the new cluster display? I've not seen it in videos or the brochures. Surprising.

Since it's mono spec, not likely.
The premium BRZ doesn't have it either, just the limited.

Hi Everyone,

I created this account just to say this. I asked a local Sales Manager over where I live (I won't know who or what) but he did inform me that there are 2 version coming to America, one is the monospec one we've seen a bunch of pictures of and a TRD version, which so far I haven't seen any pictures for.

Can anyone else corroborate this story with whatever you've heard?

There has been no TRD version announced. He is misinformed or lying

Not that big a deal, but the idea of the dealer taking a wrench to even just the wheels/tires prior to delivery of a brand new vehicle sort of bugs (the OCD person in) me.
This particular car was a factory installed option. It's on the window sticker as such, and I witnessed it being pulled off the truck. It still had the plastic adhesive covers on it when it came in. The lug nuts have a protective coating on them as well.

But I assume there might be a lot of dealers installing them in an effort to mark up the price a bit.

And mark up they will, the guy I was speaking to said that the price would be like $4-5k higher

Or knows more than we do. More likely the Release Series will continue as the TRD series like other enthusiast vehicles in the lineup.
