One, maybe two, would get cast in a movie as Special Forces the rest would get laughed out of the try outs for not fitting the Hollywood mythos.

Apparently I'm more capable than most of our fucking military. I know some soldiers... They aren't confidence inspiring. And I'm sure as fuck not taking orders from some scrub who went to officers school. I could have joined up out of school but I didn't cuz I thought it would be a cluster fuck. And I was absolutely right.

I already said I was wrong. Why isn't that good enough

Additionally, in hand to hand combat(which I realize is very rare), a woman will be easily outpaced by a man. Yes yes I know men have balls she can kick but that's not an affective "works every time" strategy... If they block it, have gear in the way or otherwise that woman would now be fucked. If she can pass the exact same tests as a man, then she is in. If she can't... gtfo

Testosterone and genetics determine how strong you can get and 99.999% of women are absolutely incapable of matching a man physically. I know everyone wants to have that story that defies the norm: your daughter carried 70% of her body weight, you know someone who's better than the men in the squad etc... But we aren't talking about exceptions. Look at women's weight lifting. They may be the strongest in the world. Stronger than me or you. But they are still weaker than male lifters.

What's so fucking hard to accept about this?

No, no you didn't you just amended it a bit. You have a completely unrealistic view of what is required. This whole "everybody needs to be able to run around carrying their downed buddies" is very Blackhawk down and Forest Gump but not real life. I tried to point out some realities (not even posted in response to you) in a very calm manner and you freaked.

Now you have demonstrated you would last about 20 minutes in the military because the mental stress alone would wipe you out.

Heck, in my prime, I wouldn't have wanted to go up against a well trained either one.

I've haven't personally known any Seals but I have trained with a few Special Forces soldiers and some of them have an engrained killer instinct.

I watched some special forces guys in Grayling, Mi. firing machine guns out of helicopters many years back. Dudes were shooting better from the chopper than I do from the ground with an MG.

Then there was the time I walked around a corner into an SF guy on a base up here. I stammered out a "sorry", and he could clearly see the horror on my face as he laughed and said "no worries".

I also have an ex member of an airborne Royal Marine regiment serving in my regiment currently. Holy shit is that guy intense. The little tid bits I've picked up from him over the years are amazing. Definitely made me a far better soldier for having him been in command of me for the first 3 or 4 years of my career.

Yeah I'll look into down there once the time comes to actually buy. Really enjoy the area the handful of times I've visited. Though as a tourist.

I'm hoping for another bubble to pop! I know its a selfish reason but.. gotta be greedy once in a while.

Wouldn't mind the traffic that bad actually. My boss lives in Tacoma and he says its ok until he reaches halfway between Tukwila and downtown Seattle.

Guess its that bad up there too? Jeeze...

Have a small feeling to go back to school but I wiped out my debt few months back. Don't want that monkey hanging over my shoulder again, least for a while.

That alone, would severely limit your military career.

Shooting a moving target is hard. Shooting a moving target while moving is exponentially harder.
