If you think that magnaflow is 304 like has been claimed in the AP sales thread, stick a magnet to it.

SCIENCE!

Also have to realize that is wide open throttle. You can drive this car pedestrian quiet as-is. And honestly....it sounds amazing in person at full tilt. If you want dead quiet, we can do that also. But don't think it's going to be ultra lightweight like this system or our track axleback is.

Tainen wasn't kidding when he said I was up for 48 hours straight. I'll do it again next week if it results in numbers like we made with this. It wasn't 21 peak HP, by the way, it was 25. And I'd bet if I dynoed it again right now it's be more.

Good Night.

Jason,

Is 316L Stainless ever used in exhaust applications?

I thought it sounded really bad to be honest I think I need to come to terms with this engine sound. Tainan would you be able to do some launch/drive by sound vids for us with stationary cam?

Nameless has the car for a few more days to fix the drone issue(among other tasks). They can do the current exhaust setup for people, or add a resonator to fix that sound issue. they'll do whatever customers want, since they hand build each part.

once the resonator gets on there and I get the car back, I'll do more vids of the what, 4th different sounding system that's been on the car... haha. should sound better/quietter

Was this the full system, or just the header? If it was the full system then the header made 15whp? Correct me if I'm wrong.

he promised me after he got some sleep that he'd make a huge post with every single dyno graph he has and explanations for each part. so we'll see that in 12-18 hours, lol.

So they are improving the exhaust AFTER people buy it?

None of the parts that we are changing have been shipped. If you'll read the whole thread you'll see that the changes we are discussing are all in the downpipe. None shipped yet.

Second, the first improvement we made to said downpipe was to incorporate the overpipe into it in order to eliminate the unnecessary bends in the overpipe that are there from the factory to clear the right hand drive steering column.

And yep. We HAVE sold a bunch of the downpipes and we upgraded all of those customers to the long, overpipe inclusive downpipes free of charge. We will be testing the band pass helmholtz resonator in these with the header before we ship any of those that have been sold. Meaning: Monday AM.

The bottom line is this: the parts we are selling right now sound excellent and drone free. If you want big 2.0 liter naturally aspirated power with a nasty stepped header and want it to sound like an LS7 (or any other engine with different compression, combustion chamber design, camshaft profile and timing, displacement and firing order for that matter), you might be kidding yourself. That doesn't mean we aren't going to put the utmost effort into giving our customers as many options as possible to tailor the sound of their exhausts to their liking. But if I find that an open header makes 88whp, you have to take the good with the bad to some extent. Depending on the factors of the design that achieve the power goals, the aesthetics may be mutually exclusive. That won't stop us from trying to engineer a silent open header.

And here it is 4:33am, and the first thing that comes to mind when I get up in the middle of the night to get a drink of water is to check the thread. Here I am posting to reassure our customers of our commitment to the development process. If you think we don't care about our customers you're mistaken. We care the most about them. When was the last time that you had T
the owner of a motorsport manufacturing company text or email you personally tailored videos on improving your driving techniques or spend 30 minutes on the phone with you educating you in how to calculate wheel fitment when they don't even sell wheels? We do things like this every day. Especially for new enthusiasts. Most of them aren't even paying customers, but it is what we are passionate about and it makes us feel all warm and fuzzy inside to know that some 17 year old kid is now spending time doing math and learning through application to something they love rather than leveling up in Call of Duty or investing 60 more hours of their life in Fallout.

Bottom line: we treat all of our customers like old friends. We don't screw people over, most certainly not early adopters. I just heavily discounted our new STi hatch exhaust design for one of the first people who bought that magnaflow design I pictured above. We sell retail off the shelf parts to our customers almost at cost for their loyalty to our product line. Find me another company like us....I want to hire them.
