I don't think the 370Z won't be the main competitor, that's a $30k car, which goes against their branding the FT as more of an entry-level enthusiast-oriented car. The immediate competition would be the Genesis coupe, Mustang V6--maybe even other sports compacts like the Civic Si and Golf GTI. Really don't think they'll eek out 300 hp from a FB20 Boxer that's N/A. The direct competitor I see is the Genesis coupe 2.0T--that's 210hp and $22k, so I'm guessing the $22-24k range. Genesis coupe is gigantic (182 inches) and weighs 3300 lbs... so my guess is the FT86 will weigh maybe 2900. 2800 at the lightest methinks. Granted, there are lots of ways to bring down the weight--high-tensile steel, aluminum, less safety reinforcements--but if this is supposed to be an inexpensive car you won't get much weight-saving materials that'll drive up cost. Question for me is, should I stay up past 1am for the official unveil... dangit. |

hmm, that picture looks odd. i think it's the front fender line that does it. i'll wait until the official unveil.

And I stayed awake for that. Hell no. Looks like a joke, like a cheap mod-job. Hope it is not as bad as this pictures suggests.

I'm also not feeling the LED on the front but that looks like the higher end spec. Maybe the lower spec wont have that LED, is this the almost production already?

hmmm that angle makes that hood look really tall, and the pics with the cover on dont seem to show that, so im hoping the side profile looks lower than that.
i wanna see the real thing...
