Aero kit advice

Im curious about others experience with aero kits. Im looking at adding one to my baby to customize her look a little but it's a bit overwhelming with all the different brands out there. Let me know about your experience with fitment, quality, durability and even advice on vendors. Thanks in advance for your advice!

you get what you pay for, and find a good paint shop that matches paint well so you don't end up like @Kayuza with a $15k Varis body kit that is an off white

Yeah definately a cosmetic mod but that is what I'm after at the moment. Appreciate the comments so far. What im really looking for is advice on the quality of some of the different manufacturers out there. Anyone bought a VIS Kit for example? Or Duraflex? Etc

Duraflex is what you'd expect. Prepare to need to have a good amount of work done for it to fit right.

Authentic TRD! XD I just bought myself a set after using the replica for 3 years. Even tho the replica fitments were good but the fitments on the authentic is like PERFECT, no such thing as gap, but it is like triple the price as the replica XD

Thanks aSaki. I've been dwelling on this for a long time and reading reviews and looking at others cars. I agree with you and am going to go with the trd kit.

I guess I will chime in. I bought my Aero Jacket kit back in 2013/14 season when I first got the car. The fitment isnt perfect, but my body shop (Velocity Autobody) did a lot to help with the fitment issues so it does not look like it has these issues.

For the quality, it is absolutely unreal. You do not understand the amount of shit I have hit on the highway and underneath without this front lip showing any damage. I have had it on the car now for over 3 years and all it has shown is paint chips. The lip owes me nothing, it is absolutely bulletproof! Now this is also because I make sure I go every year to the body shop to get it reinforced and painted, so make sure you are willing to keep up with the maintenance so that you aren't dragging it down the street one day. Also, I will note that since it sticks out more in the front and is flat (unlike its similar FiveAxis kit), the downforce has been putting pressure on my front bumper and pulling it down slowly off the clips. The rest of the kit (sideskirts, rear spats) are fine and had no issues.

Before I send you off looking at AeroJacket, I have heard lots of complaints on the Facebook FRS/BRZ/GT86 Enthusiasts that Aerojacket has been terrible at responding and sending out product. They did switch hands into a bigger brand and really only focus on their 350/370z parts now. I don't know if it is the same guy running it when I dealt with them back in the day, so I would proceed with caution.

Either way, I love my kit. It owes me nothing for how poorly I abuse it here in Canada. No one really has it so it is unique and different. There is my two cents! :P

Stay clear of duraflex stuff... Buy authentic parts if you want it to fit and actually look good. Keep in mind that aero stuff costs a lot and if you cheap out, it will show. There are less pricier, less elaborate kits though, The STI lip and side skirts can be bought straight from Subaru Canada for a little over 1k.

Edit- NVM you drive an FRS lol
