Do you guys notice when he revs the car @ 29:20, the rpms drop like 600 before shooting up, is that normal? lol. Don't think my car does that.

I'll translate:

He's had the BRZ for a few days.
Keeps saying Happy Sunday and that it's hot in Miami.
He likes the new headlights with LEDs and projectors compared to the old stuff.
Bunch of nonsense follows regarding what everyone would be able to say by looking at pictures.
Interior quality isnt bad he says, the wheel feels smaller he says, and the leather has good quality to it. He didnt expect luxury materials, so he doesnt have any big criticisms about it.
The BRZ seems expensive to him (as in not a good deal specially in other countries when he's given foreign prices - seems he's reading live questions)
Dashboard is unchanged he says, touchscreen is very easy to use and has big buttons.
Back up camera indicators dont turn with the wheel (static)
Tailights he keeps saying he likes them because they match the projector like shape from the headlights now.
The car doesnt move easy at low RPMs as in you have to rev it to get going
Points out there's a delay in acceleration when he was revving standing still, said there was no delay once the revs went beyond a higher point
Seats arent friendly for fat people
he finished saying he would like to autocross the car

No meaningful feedback basically.

I just called a dealership in SoCal. They are 2nd in terms of highest sales volume (in their district) YTD and they are in the district with the highest sales volume too in the LA Region.

Called and straight up asked:

Me: "Hi Is it possible to place for a specific car? I have the Model Code and Option Number."

Internet sales manager: "Sure go ahead!"

Me: The model code is HZE and the Option Code is 02"

Internet sales manager: "One moment let me check that for you!"

Internet sales manager: "Sorry it only shows you can order Option 01 so this model or option is probably coming out later on."

I thanked her and told her to have a great day.

I'm not sure how some people can order HZE-02's which is better known as the BRZ Limited with Performance Package.

The only possible way is if a dealer ordered one in the two or three day window when it was still an option and happened to have the color of the customer already coming in.

Or that some dealers are not totally honest and "sure we ordered it" really means "if one shows up we will say your order arrived". B int told one is ordered and one actually being ordered are not the same thing. I could go to my local dealer right now and walk out with an official looking printout that never went anyplace beyond the salesman's laptop.

Or of course you can use the secret canine order system referenced earlier to bypass all the formal channels.

To clarify; the dog can't get you a pp yet, just invoice price. He is a dog, what interest would he have for your money?

I take it that he bought his car from Illinois and drove it back to Miami? Does this mean we officially have a customer order delivered early? Damn, why can't he speak English.😑

It's nice to get a close up look at it, even if you don't speak Spanish though.

Would that prove to be problematic irl then? If there were a delay everytime you go to shift and not instant power? Or am I just being too anal right now cause I don't want to be getting into something that will really bother me down the road.

p.s. I have a delivery estimate of September 6 according to SoA, so they're coming soon! My dealer still tells me unknown arrival date however.

Looks like the only way to find out is test drive prior to completing the purchase. If there's a delay I would think that only applies to the 6MT, since nothing is changed on the 6AT.

I wouldn't worry, if it's as terrible as you're writing it. All the reviewer would have fried it so far in the Japanese/ Australian reviews. The problem would also exist on the 86 and so far there's nothing mentioned. Like always tho always drive the car before you buy it.

I also think that they should arrive on lots between 8-20 of September here on the East coast from all the data gathered from dealers in the area and people order sheet thing.

Might sound lame but, what exactly would you personally look for when test driving a brand new car(assuming you already know you want the car)? Other than the problem we mentioned. I feel like even if there was that delay I would still buy it just because I waited so long for the car and I wouldn't know if it's normal or not

Sounds to me like a lot of stuff is on a personal level for you. I probably drive about 2-4 cars of different kinds or same each month for work. And things I look for are first of just the basics. Even if it's new I still look for leaks, body damage etc. secondly how much I feel connected with the car. This is a personal thing because I have very high standards for what makes me feel connected. For example I feel Very connected in a s2000 but not a WRX, or the FRS and not the ND Miata, 235i more than a S5, mustang more than new Camero. Etc no matter what you say if you don't like how it drives you're not going to enjoy it.

This is a very personal thing for each person so can't really say much more. Lastly if you're going to buy it anyways, you already answered your own question.

You're gonna get it anyways...

Also if you really feel that you need something to compare it to, then drive an older model. 5hp some suspension tuning and gadget here and there isn't going to change how this car feels that much. It's a refresh not a remake.

Good luck.Have fun and enjoy driving the New BRZ.
