Miata is a car you can have fun and doesn't cost an arm and leg to maintain. While the Twins give you exotic car looks without the exotic car costs.

Yup, I would. I tend to like the elegance of a single purpose tool. The FRS needs to be more things to more people while the Miata can get away with being a scalpel. Daily drove a Miata for 10 years including Canadian winters. I do like drop-tops, and nobody has ever made one as easy to use as the Miata's; I used to love putting the top down on sunny winter days. |

Fair enough! I have only ridden in some rag tops in winter and didn't like it. I am glad you do though! You sir are why they make rag tops, lots of people love them. |

There is only one thing that ever kept me from buying a Miata. Mazda like their dumb faces waaaaaay to much. For the longest time you can have old school stoner or happy idiot. At least they have finally got away from that.

1) I don't like convertibles. Any convertibles.Nor do I like t-tops,or targa tops. Just not my thing, kinda like I'd never be caught dead buying a white car. There's just certain aspect of cars that don't appeal to me. 2) The car feels like a glorified go kart. Honestly,it's just not my style. I guess I'm supposed to love it just because everyone else does. And here I was thinking that I lived in a free country with the freedom to like or dislike whatever I want. Silly me,I guess. |

For me the Miata is a touch on the small side, and I don't feel safe in them. But everything else is awesome except for storage. The twins on the other hand don't give me that unsafe too small feeling that the Miata gives. The interior feels just right. The looks are great and I am waiting for the refresh to test drive it and see how it feels. Drove the 2012 model and thought it could've been improved, been waiting a long time. |

When the Miata came out it was girly looking. To me it just has that reputation.

When people ask me what an FRS is, I tell them it's "a manly Miata". My last track car was a 350Z. Yes, these cars lack power compared to cars like Z's, but from a driving perspective, that's the whole list. I prefer the twins for pretty much everything other than straight-line acceleration, and straight-line stuff just doesn't do much for me. One time at the drag strip in my 350Z, I accidentally left my digital readout in temperature mode. After shifting to second gear, I glanced at the display and thought it was showing 93MPH. (wtf?) When I realized it was showing degrees rather than MPH, I started cycling through the options until...my shift light came on! "Ohhh yeah, I'm racing"....I forgot. -Still finished the run within a couple tenths of my best for the day. I have seen people accidentally hit their wipers while turning on an autocross track. They often come through the timing lights with them still going because they are otherwise busy driving while on course. |
