When I searched 3985 pages of this locomotive came up. Turns out is the only in service steam locomotive remaining in the world, although apparently it has a "brother" going restoration.

CORRECTION: not the only, but the largest. It's also the only one currently active in the US although it seems to spend more time parked than actually running. Also, it has been converted from coal to oil to prevent forest fires.

Largest how? Heaviest, longest, tallest, most wheels, most HP?
Just curious :-)

Just in service... One of the largest, heaviest, longest, most wheels in the US is the restoration project of the UP 4-8-8-4 "Big Boy" #4014.

This is NOT in the counting sequence. But, you may soon see this again...

That's very cool.

But the claim was that the other locomotive is the largest in-service steam locomotive remaining in the world, and I am wondering by which measurement(s) that conclusion is reached.
I'm not saying it's wrong, just asking politely for clarification since "largest" in this context is a bit vague.

Not that it matters. Any and all functional steam locomotives are awesome

Oh, and

I've actually seen this engine a few times when is passes through town. It's massive and the wheels are larger than a person. Modern diesel engines look like toys in comparison.

Weight:907,980 lbs. or 454 tons Engine & Tender
Length:114 ft. 2-5/8 in. Engine & Tender
Tender Type:14-wheeled
Water Capacity:23,500 gallons
Fuel:6,200 gallons No. 5 oil
