I emailed Joying and the only thing they can tell me is to buy "their" obd2 unit. Which if thats all I cared about would be fine but it still doesn't fix the problem with it not pairing to other hardware.

Bit frustrating.
I thought about getting theirs too, but according to an Amazon customer it doesn't turn off when the car turns off...

The only thing that would hurt is leaving the led on in the unit though right?

If you install the malaysk Roms on it, one of the utilities lets you choose to change the names of the OBD devices it can connect to.

Just to update: these are stickers and they're pretty tenacious, but they do come off. Much better now!
Just gotta trim the file the back of the dash trim a bit and we're done!

My lcd came with a protective film..that fits right over the screen..

Do not remove it..

That film is there to help swiping, it has lower surface energy.

I removed my thinking it was another screen protector form factory.
It will still work after, but the original screen surface has a lot more friction and make it feel giddier.

I seen it on a lot of Chinese LCD panel, they put on the secondary film to help with the smooth swiping

Anyone heard any info on update kit for the KitKat Toyota units? Emailed them and they said nothing yet. Don't understand what's the hold up since they are selling the unit with lollipop now.

Guys, heads up about the OBDLINK SX USB cable: it needs full USB power.
So plug it in -by itself- into one of the back ports OR use a powered hub.
I tried a passive USB hub and it didn't work.
