I drive with both hands, does it only affect me half the time?

Only if you also have airbags implanted in your knees!

Did you check your vin on the list at the start of the thread? If there then be very careful not to hit the knee airbag before September!

Yes mine is affected. Most people ain't fussed since we have been driving obliviously for so long.

By the way the problem is with power steering isn't it?

Edit: Oops I am confused. My car is affected by the power steering issue. Have to check regarding airbag

Yep. Like I said in another thread it takes the perfect storm of events for it to happen though. You need to drive a pile, rub material off the contacts, have moist conditions that make it oxidize, have it pile up, hit the knee airbag hard enough for the material to hit the contacts, have enough material to make the contacts not work and then your power steering cuts out. Now mind you that may sound far fetched but they had 42 reports so it can happen! Just don't hit you knee airbags and trigger the storm and all should be good. At least if it does happen you also will know what is going on and that is sometimes half the battle with a sudden failure.

Ya the NZ one is pretty sparse. Also going to be fun as more clickbait and blogs grab it and run since it makes a great headline. "World Wide Recall" sounds just as scary as they love. Most won't make it clear that it is one very specific vehicle set up that is affected.
