Side stone guard damage how to fix?
So I have some damage as shown by image near the underbody (front right near the quarter panel). It's right down to the metal.
Not sure how to fix it and not sure whether it's worth fixing or just painting it over with touch up paint. Keen to hear what's the best approach. |

Since it's down there, i would just smooth out the rough edges with a knife and then touch it up with a thick layer of touch up paint. After you get some paint on it I doubt you'll think about after a week.

Yes, I agree.
First remove all wax with alcohol, then glob some touch up paint on it. humfrz |

Maybe I'm crazy but that doesn't quite look like it is down to metal. Looks like the area is just chipped through a Chip Guard? The wavey paint in that area is due to paint being placed over a hard rubbery coating if I'm not mistaken.
Looks like it just chipped through the paint and into the chip guard. For fixing it... I'd say just fill in the chip using either 3M's undercoating spray or using seam sealer. Then just paint over it. If it is down to metal... seal it with Rust Bullet, Master Series Coating, or some other MCU (moisture cure urethane) and then paint over it. My recommendation... see how closely the Blue Color Shell from Rust Bullet would match up. Touch up paint is weak and would come off fairly easily IMHO.

Lucky you can fix this with little prep because you're not going for pretty. Take the loose crap off and fill it in with paint
