That's probably the biggest deal for me. I'm not ok with that. But I'm not ok with sub zero temps 4 months of the year and snow sometimes for 6. Oh, and all our roads are in a grid. We have no curves, just angles. 90 degree ones.

There are tons of good driving roads here. Plus plenty of tracks within reasonable driving distance. I feel like when people bring up Oregon, they automatically think Portland and rain. An option is to move to eastern Oregon, I feel like its always nice in Bend, OR. Downside, its almost 4 hours away from Portland.

In Portland, We hardly get it. When we get an inch of snow, we get school closures and everybody is indoors. People here don't know how to drive in snow.

I was literally about to recommend bend... all the Oregon perks, with none of the downsides. No speedway closeby though.

Yes to the snow... With Bend you get all four seasons. But the snow more "White Christmas" than "Day After Tomorrow"

Hit and miss. Haven't had crippling snowfall in years, though my definition of crippling is different from someone from NY or PHI.

Paging @slyphen since he works with CNC machining at his work place. Perhaps he can help you out with potential job reference if you decide to move here? (He's also my car bud)

Me and the GF are considering moving. Most of our general criteria is:

Moderate weather(we live in Iowa currently. Fuck winter)
You'll like the weather here compared to Iowa, since it looks like you hate the snow.
Good driving roads
Plenty of awesome driving roads. We do group drives and I'm sure we can show you around. Last one we did was to Mt. Baker and I'm hoping we can eek out Mt. Rainer by the end of summer.
Race track preferred(currently about 150 miles from one. Closer would be great but not required)
A few I can think of, Shelton (supposedly our best track in the area), Pacific raceways, Evergreen speedway. For autocross, there's Bremerton and Packwood.
Low crime always preferred
Stay out of Rainer Valley, White Center and parts of Burien if you are going to be in Seattle (I've lived in this whole area and neighborhoods all my life).
Lower cost of living(no Seattle)
Depending on where in Seattle, it can be *cheaper* than other areas. Would never live anywhere near downtown unless I was making 100k/year and even then... About 30 minutes north of Seattle (dep on traffic) in Everett, its not too bad. 20-30 minutes south of Seattle in Tacoma isn't that bad either. Mercer Island and Bellevue are where the rich yuppies live.
Higher average income
How high average are we talking about here? Compared to the rest of my area, I almost have the income of 2 working adults with *somewhat decent* income. Compared to say... Bellevue, I am a peasant.
Not middle of nowhere
Anywhere circled is what you seem like you want. Thing is, you'll have to contend with traffic, which I am hating right now but it's what I have to do since I can't work remotely.

So what's the climate regions look like? Which cities/towns fit my criteria? I have been running CNC/machining equipment for years and she handles inventory/ordering/crane operation with a background in ordering/inventory control if that makes any difference
As mentioned previously, Boeing would be pretty cool for you, but I always read they layoff people so dunno if you want to deal with the potential of that happening. Your gf might be a really good fit for Amazon and their plethora of jobs in the area (and their HQ is here). New buildings are being put up everywhere so there should be positions open for crane operators, I dont know about that field of work though.
Hopefully this helps.

Dude is the northwest... They are all cloudy/rainy as F. I'm not kidding. If it rains in Portland in the morning, by afternoon Seattle will be raining & by midnight it will be Vancouver Canada.

But other then rainy... It's a dream to live.
