Fuji 86 Style with BRZ 2016! (Pic heavy!)

Hey folks,
Yesterday I went to the 86 style gathering at Fuji Speedway, Japan for the annual AE86/GT86/BRZ meetup!
Was a really great day, only wish I had the time to stick around for some of the other events held later in the afternoon, prior work commitments meant I had to bail at 1pm, the day is normally held until 6:30!

Arrived at 7am and after the 40 or so minutes outside forming orderly queues we were eventually siphoned through the main gates and lead to respective parking spots, 86's in one car park, BRZ in another and last but not least, everyone else ushered into a separate car park.

Though it looks smaller the closer you get to it, the mountain on the left is actually Mount Fuji! - At first glance the attendees cars looked fairly stock, but the more I walked around the car park the more I saw peoples individual flair shining through!

I actually really liked the mismatched lip color on this one!

This one was pretty amusing, and very well done too!

And then I strayed into the BRZ carpark, I'm going to take a wild guess at blue being the most popular BRZ color option in Japan.

Though not every one was rocking blue!

A look down into overflow parking for the poor souls who didn't turn up in an 86/BRZ

A nice little view of the track from the pop up announcers booth

Now!, on to the manufacturer paddock!!

Carbing.co.jp

cleib9012.com

Apexi

Chargespeed

Modellista (Toyota)

HKS

Potenza

Tomica / Takara Tomy

I really missed a trick here with this yearly special edition Takara Tomy toy car they were selling to match the above vehicle:

As these cars are now all over ebay/yahoo auctions for $70+ each, quite a markup from the $6 or so they cost at the event!

Prodrive / Endless

Rowen

Rays

Cabana

K Tsuchiya's drifting monster!!!

STI/Denso

Various (AKA random or unknown)

Not sure who owned this one, but it was very well molded to the body and the rims were the most bling I have ever seen in my entire life.

And this one was just INSANE!

In the last parking area all the older 86's sat proudly!

Had a blast! looking forward to spending the entire day there next year! - Have some other pictures from a different device that i'll add to the post soon too!

p.s. If the media or anyone want to use any of these photos in an article/coverage/etc I'm fine with it but please just shoot me a PM first so I know!

Whoas! Thanks for sharing. I've never seen so many 86's in one place.

Interesting to see the Scion badges and USDM amber corner reflectors.

I convinced the guy standing around next to it to let me have a quick sit in it, feels *exactly* like a twin until you look in the rear view mirror, at which point you don't really notice the slightly increased space in the back, what you do however notice, is the terrible view out of the back window!
If a standard 86 was driving behind it around 10 meters away, you likely would not even see it as the top half of what you normally see in the rear view mirror is blocked by the top of the rear doors frame.

Yeah... IDK why they went with that design shootingbrake. I'm keep telling them to copy my design. My design will have decent view (of course guessing) Hell, I gladly walk away from my current job to help engineer shootingbrake 86 lol
