Just called HKS USA about the internal order of the bypass valve parts... they had no answers for me... I was a bit surprised and disappointed about that...

Anyway, I want to make sure I have it right... I now believe I had it wrong initially and have since changed it to the following orientation:

Bypass Cap, Big Spring, Little Spring, Diaphragm, Bypass Valve Body, Gasket...

(Sorry if my terminology is a little off...)

Does anyone have experience with having HKS branded bypass valves apart or even bypass valves in general? If so, your input would be appreciated. thanks in advance.

Hey Zeal, sorry for the confusion. You spoke to James and he wasn't aware that bypass valve actually comes just loosely together when it's shipped. We confirmed, little spring goes inside the big spring. Attached is a picture of ours on our FR-S.

Thank you Torry! That's the confirmation I was looking for... that's the way I have it installed now.

Anyone using an aftermarket airbox with their v3 SC? I've only seen a pic of an Arc brand airbox. A link or a pic to the airbox installed would be greatly appreciated!

Somewhat new to this forum, but not new to the BRZ. I owned a 2013 and upgraded to a 2016 Series Hyper Blue with a 370Z thrown in-between (long story).

Anyway, have put about 500 miles on the HKS V3 Supercharger kit that I installed on my car a little less than a month ago.

I went with ECUTek for the tune, since it was what I used on my '13 and I already had the cable and dongle. Plus, the HKS Flash Editor wouldn't work on my '16.

Very happy with the kit. It's super quiet, just makes the engine feel larger.

My car looks stock, save for the Valenti black gold tail lights. I've kept the stock rims in place and have done zero modifications to the body. If you weren't looking for the intercooler, you'd likely pass it by.

Install took me about 9 days. Two weekends with a weeks worth of evenings spent putting it all together. I took my time to get it right the first time, so I probably put about 20 hours into the job, perhaps more. I've got some mechanical experience, but as I said, I was taking my time to eliminate any re-do's and screw-ups.

Next upgrade will likely be an exhaust, since I'm still rolling the stock system. With the forced induction, there's undoubtedly more to be had by letting it breathe a little.

Anyway, Cheers!

The Z was a very nice car. But it wasn't as agile and sure-footed as the BRZ, it was about 700 lbs heavier, and I hated the gearbox.

go with a Tial QRJ full recirculating BOV. i have one on my car with a high boost pulley. sounds amazing, looks better, and in my opinion performs better than the bypass valve.

pictures on my IG: andyb727

ill have videos up soon once i fix the crank pulley pin that i bent.

Well i dont recommend using a lightweight crank pulley with this kit. i have bent one pin and walked another out of timing i suspect/hope. ill update after i pull it off again today. but i threw a crank position sensor, cam position sensor, bank 1 air/fuel imbalance, and cylinder 2 misfire code yesterday doing some testing :/

Ive been using a LCP from day 1 (approx 2 yrs). Put on 5000 kms this season without issue.
Perhaps the key that keeps the crank in place was compromised.
