I did the math and it came out to "a shitload"!
Maybe that is the new break away engine design I have heard about (no really there are designs for that).

Yes. The principal has been used for aircraft engines for decades really. The idea is that in a partial frontal or angled impact the crumple zones can be much more effective without a bug chunk of solid steel being included in the mix. Doubt that is what was really the situation in the pics though.

So tranny to engine bolt TQ spec is 50 ft/lbs do you have to multiply that times each bolt? Is it a linear function?
