OFT tune on stock car?

Currently only have trd catback and drop in air filter. How much would the OFT stage 1 tune increase in hp or change the car in terms of performance or other aspects? Not sure if its worth it ($650 CAD)

Thanks

If your planning to stay stock, it's not worth it.
If you have plans down the road, for full exhaust and some tweaking and what nots, it could be worth it.

I would spend my money on sticky tires and a track/autox day. But that's my way of thinking.

Definitely check out the Software Tuning section, and make sure to read the sticky by @steve99

An OFT tune won't do much for your car given the stuff you have on it. Most people flash tunes because they get catless headers and don't want to trip a CEL code, and there are tunes on OFT that can really get a few extra hp from the headers.

You will, however, get rid of the torque dip, but that isn't worth spending $500 for.

The factory exhaust flows great. Axle back can be installed to give your car some real tone. People have hit 200hp+ on factory exhaust, e85 tune over and over. No need to make your car stupid loud and no need to drop thousands.

I can only speak for Ecutek being the best operating system for our factory ECU.

Everyone from BRZWORLD I've seen that went stage 1 stock always had a big grin after !

But if you go OFT make sure you get it from the OFFICIAL CANADIAN DISTRIBUTOR. He is SHIV NORTH, no one else selling OFT's in Kanuckistan has direct contact with SHIV SOUTH for fast service (tuning, warranty etc. - as we all know the overworked SHIV SOUTH takes a long time to respond to e-mails).

AS someone who has flashed a totally bone stock car; I will say this...

On a totally stock car it won't do all that much. You'll feel a little more ummph down in the 3000RPM range from the aggressive AVCS timing.. but thats about it. It's hardly noticeable anywhere else.

When you add a full exhaust, and then flash one of those tunes, its a totally different story. Adds a lot more grunt, doesn't make the car a rocket ship, but at least it lets you feel like you can overtake a car on the highway changing lanes..

I purchased Crawford power blocks and oft at same time. I had just had new motor installed. Imo stock is underwhelming on the street. My car is now respectable below 5k. Correcting torque band makes it feel weaker up top though.

If you're keeping your car stock pick up a unichip from a forum member ~$200. Best bang for your buck.
