I was a year-round intern at Sandia Natl. Labs when we were developing the very first MEMS gyros. Trust me, it's relevant. It didn't take long for the tech to explode and the results were already a foregone conclusion back then.

But hey, we can play with cool drones and fitbits so there's that.

Well yeah, it is. But at the same time standing on a battlefield risking your own life is (maybe) something worth fighting/killing for but if there's an app for that... meh.

It's the outcome that's important, not the means. Why should we risk lives to fight if we don't have to. Obviously much classier to run in like Rambo but... the terrorist types seem to be very fond of that style and we see how well it's working out for them...

Same reason I'm not a pro gamer, or professional race car driver... art doesn't win. Breaking it down to a science does.

Well I get that. A longer sword, a gun that shoots further, a missle that flys further... it's better to be a step ahead of the enemy. But you know who decides who is a "terrorist" and how much skin is it off their's or anyones back to press a button. Or maybe it's not even a human pressing the button anyway... US citizens have been killed by US drones before... I'm sure the dude was a bad guy...

Nah, someone will come from the future to save us. I'm pretty sure it's happened before.

This is heavily problematic.

Here's the thing about distance;
The more distance between you and the target, the more room for distortion.

Peace out.
Haven't heard from Tcoat since he posted this.
I read the few pages leading up to it, but didn't think he actually meant he was leaving, just that if he did, this would be the kind of thing that led to it.

Anybody care to chime in?

Well, now, warfare has been that way for many a year, examples:

* catapulting fireballs into mid evil fortresses

* bombing the Hồ Chí Minh trail with B-52s

and NO! ....... I DON'T remember the first one ........
