Completely agree. I'm considering selling my FR-S for a Challenger.

That is almost as sacrilegious as saying you own a Camaro....but its a v6 model.

Even the lightest Challenger weighs over 4000 lbs. So that's a pretty good reason to say that you NEED the V8 in that car.

Meanwhile a V6 Camaro is 3400 lbs. That's a HUGE difference, plus the Camaro V6 has 20-30 more hp than the Challenger's (I think, haven't checked recently).

i took the v6 challenger up to 140 with ease and overtaking other cars wasn't a problem with all that weight but i agree R/T or higher for Challenger

Q: What happened to <11 lbs/hp not being a requirement for calling a car 'fun'?

A: An internet penis measuring contest.

FRS: 2750 lbs/200 hp = 13.75 lbs/hp
ND Miata: 2330 lbs/155 hp = 15.03 lbs/hp
V6 Pony Car: ~3500 lbs/305 hp = 11.47 lbs/hp
V6 Challenger: ~3850/305hp = 12.62 lbs/hp

Have you ever driven a base model pony car? Serious question.

Yeah, I wouldnt consider a v6 or in the case of the mustang or camaro, the turbo 4. If i am going to buy one of those three cars it will be a v8. Nothing against the other engines, just not my preference.

Yes, I test drove a '13 Mustang V6 before buying my 86 (15 minutes after my first FR-S test drive, ~3 months before I drove home in my FR-S) and I spent 3 days in a rental V6 AT Camaro convertible ('14 iirc) on vacation, and for comparison I've also test driven a '14 Mustang GT and a '14 Camaro SS.

The engines simply aren't the turnoffs for me in those cars. Or turn-ons for that matter.

Sure you may not find them fun to drive, but that's just like your opinion man. The best cars are fun regardless of whether they have 50 horsepower or 500 horsepower.

Don't forget to include in your blanket statements that the V8 Mustang in 2009, and every year prior for 2 decades made less horsepower than any V6 or I4 Pony car does today or has had for the last ~4 years.

Ahhh, but those cars also weighed less. Its all subjective, but a lot of the cars being discussed are not quick by any measure, but then again neither is the 86.
