tl;dr -- Guy took his Aston Martin Vantage to Firestone for new tires. Firestone jacked the car up by the tubs rather than proper jack points. Car was totaled.
And people look at me like I'm crazy for driving 45 minutes to get tires.

I had the inverse happen with my second WRX. The local Subaru dealership botched the alignment twice. The second time the steering wheel wasn't even straight. I took it to an independent shop I now use for anything tire/alignment related.

Credit to the service manager for Subaru, though. After I showed her the results of the second alignment and said I'd like to take it somewhere else, she agreed to reimburse the bill without hesitation.

tire kingdom in this case gave me a 1 year free wheel alignment service because i purchased the tires...i took the car on some back roads after toyota aligned it and screwed up the alignment because of some deep holes in the road

went back to tire kindgom instead and they finally got it right ...but receptionist asked me if i still have the 1 year free wheel alignment and i said it's only been 3 months, really now?!

I have the lifetime alignments at firestone. They dont get it right usually so I just keep taking it back. I only use them for rough alignments though. When I want exact specs I take it to a locally owned place

Both my 86s do that. I don't think it's avoidable.
