Review: Spec D Exhaust

Just bought a Spec D catback and running it on stock everything before the cat... holy snap.. for $350 off amazon.com it is not bad at all. Nice and not a raspy growl. I will note it has a TON of drone ( I will be doing an intake resonator delete shortly..). If you're only starting to mod you car and you're like me saving money for important parts like a good set of Coilovers and such.. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Gets rid of the ***** stock exhaust sound with out coming out as a straight piped ricer ass. Good bang for the buck!

How is an intake resonator delete going to help with the drone? Not trying to be an ass...

Well, his view is of "the exhaust has a LOT of drone.... but it doesn't sound like straight piped ricer ass."

Hello all, trying to get some videos to you should be uploaded soon. What I meant by intake resonator delete is I'm trying to minimize cabin noise.

Considering this catback is only $350, it's a pretty good deal especially for someone like me on a tighter budget. It is pretty loud but after driving a bit on it I've gotten used to the drone. It's louder around 3-4000 rpm. Silencers on didn't do much but it is a nice sounding exhaust. I was a bit scared at first it would be raspy considering how much I was paying but it's a deep sounding exhaust that I LOVE. This is on stock headers too..

Stock headers with my N1 Catback was already loudish. Now I'm full catless with a UEL and I feel bad for my neighbors when I go to work in the morning. Had a buddy do a drive by punching through first, second and third and it made me cringe. I'd assume these are no different from the N1 aside from maybe the quality and/or fitment. If it sounds good it sounds good.

Basically they're a cheap N1. they seem okish so far and they hang pretty straight. It is my daily so probably I'll stick with stock headers so my neighbors don't kill me when I drive home late

Lol, I leave for work on weekdays anywhere from 5 to 730am. Then again around 10pm to 12am as I drop my girlfriend off and then back home. Imy oblivious to how loud it may actually benjoy since I'm not outside to here it. Wakes my cousin up and scares her in the morning a lot though.

How will you minimize cabin noise with an intake resonator delete? Maybe you mean the sound tube?

CORRECTION: Yes I mean sound tube. I misread other threads about resonators! Thank you for pointing that out.

P.s. I'm a car modding scrub. Bless these forums for all the great info

Some sound clips for y'all.

2nd gear pull up to like 6000ish

Startup and rev up to 4500ish

Nice deep sound and I'm loving it not too obnoxiously loud either but significantly louder than stock. Turns a lot more heads that's for sure. After driving on it for a weekish you get used to the drone. I think it was mainly the sudden change from the quiet stock exhaust to this one.

Again, definitely recommend if you're on a tighter mod budget but want to beef up your exhaust sound.
