Quebec:
After 5 hours of driving to Montreal I decided to keep my DSLR in the car. Having gone to MTL in Elementary school I remember it was pretty boring and there was not much to see. After a 3 hour drive from MTL to Quebec City, I parked the car near Quebec Old Town and walked around to see the amazing sights that the city had to offer. Like I said the weather held up all trip. Here is a view of the St. Lawrence River from the lookout point in Quebec City ![]() Some more shots from Quebec City, I can't remember where exactly I took this, but I'm assuming it's Lower Quebec City ![]() ![]() Then after Quebec City we left for Montmorency Falls which IIRC was an hour or so away. ![]() After about a 20 minute walk on the steep steps we arrived at the top of the falls to catch the skyline. There's a suspension bridge that you can walk on which goes directly over the falls. There's also a ziplining thing you can do which goes across the falls. That opens in late July if I remember correctly. ![]() Here's a shot of the car with the falls in the back. The front end was caked with bugs by the end of the trip ![]() New Brunswick: Then we set off for the 6 hour drive from Quebec City to Fredericton, New Brunswick. Coming from Toronto, mountains (or hills for those who live out west) wasn't a common sight so I had to stop and take a shot of this on the drive to New Brunswick. I quickly got used to the "mountainous" terrain by the end of the trip and stopped grabbing shots like this. ![]() We stayed the night in Fredericton and slept in what felt like a cement bed then left early in the morning to go to Odell Park (Overrated, don't waste your time doing that if you do this trip) and then went to St. John, New Brunswick where we stopped by Irving Nature park which was on the way Caught our first glimpse of the ocean at the Park ![]() ![]() ![]() Then we went through a hike in their trails to get to the board walk and marsh area which was surprisingly nice to chill at. Kinda smelly too. ![]() ![]() Not much to see at Irving Nature Park really, but I would recommend it. It's a good way to burn a couple hours in hiking their trails. After that we left for the city of St. John which I could definitely see myself living at. Good vibes all around in that city, you can't capture that in a camera. ![]() ![]() ![]() We then left for Moncton where we'd sleep for the night and then set off for Hopewell Rocks in the morning. Take a look at the sand and the trenches of this vast landscape ![]() Then after a 20 minute hike we made it to the rocks during the low tide (though some recommend to see the rocks at both low and high tide). We got to walk on the ocean floor ![]() ![]() Not recommended but we did some climbing of the rocks -- careful there are park rangers patrolling the area for that stuff. Don't get ranger'd if you do it. Prince Edward Island: After Hopewell we left for the relatively short drive to PEI where I had to stop to get a picture of the confederation bridge. This bridge is the longest bridge in the world to go over ice covered waters ![]() ![]() I then decided that all these boring straight highways were getting on my nerves and took the coastal route to Charlottetown PEI. Red sand for days. ![]() After arriving in Charlottetown we tried to find a place to sleep for the night but everywhere had no vacancy. Saw a fox at one of the motels we wanted to stay at (there's a lot on the Island). They're pretty cute animals its the first time i've ever seen one. Tried to bait it for a photo then it started prancing toward me so I ran back to the car. ![]() We stayed the night in Charlottetown and then made our way back out into the city in the morning to visit the Basilica and Confederation landing. Here's a shot of Victoria Row which has a couple restaurants and places to keep you busy during the nightlife in PEI. ![]() This is St. Dunstan's Basilica. We arrived just before they were going to run a mass to grab some shots. ![]() Confederation landing. ![]() After Charlottetown we went up North to visit Green Gables and Cavendish beach. I've never read Anne of Green Gables so I didn't really care for the book or story behind the farm, but the house and it's contents showed what life used to be like in PEI at the time and it was pretty cool ![]() Then we went to Cavendish beach which was a short drive from the Green Gables House ![]() ![]() ![]() After that we left to do the horse ride which I didn't get any DSLR shots of, and then went to Seal Cove Campground where we camped by the ocean. Camping by the ocean is something I wouldn't do again but I like the fact that I did it to say that I did. Camping by the ocean is cold, windy and your clothes feel wet despite the fact you're protected by a sleeping bag and tent. It was an experience but it was bitter sweet. The stars at night were cool though, I saw an outline of the Milky Way (It was cloudy at night). When we woke up the car was covered in water (it didn't rain) ![]() ![]() Nova Scotia: We then woke up and drove to Wood Island to catch the ferry from PEI to Nova Scotia. It was about an hour and a half ferry ride, loading the cars onto the ferry was easier and quicker than I thought it would be. And for roughly 90 bucks (split between two people) you can't go wrong but take the ferry since taking the confederation bridge again would be 70 dollars since they toll you on the way out. ![]() After some driving through the Cabot Trail --we did the counter-clockwise drive which I highly recommend as it was very scenic-- we saw some cool sights which I wish I would have caught with my DSLR (my friend has a bunch on his camera though). I can't remember where this pic was taken, I think it was near Meat Cove ![]() Then we arrived at Meat Cove after 2.5 hours on the cabot trail. Very relaxing to just sit by the ocean and also eastern most point of Nova Scotia. ![]() ![]() After meat cove we finished off the cabot trail to get to our campsite. The finale picture was taken on this drive ![]() These are some shots from the lookout points of the cabot trail. The pictures don't do it justice. It's overwhelming in person to see these kinda sights. ![]() ![]() ![]() After the trail I got my speeding ticket which I couldn't be any more thankful that it happened after Cabot Trail because I went the speed limit the whole way from Cape Breton to Halifax. The drive on the trail was spirited and getting a ticket before hand would have ruined it for me. We then left for Halifax where we walked around the city and visited the public gardens. We had lunch at the Bicycle Thief in Halifax near the water and I don't recommend this place. It's over priced and the portion size is very small. I only say that because it is a highly recommended place to eat on trip adviser. ![]() halifax Public Gardens ![]() ![]() ![]() And we finished off the trip at Peggy's Cove, a fishing village in Nova Scotia ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Taking this picture was pretty dicey, there were a bunch of signs advising not to get this close to the water ![]() When I got home after a tormenting 15 hour drive from Woodstock new brunswick to Vaughan, I hung up all the flags in my room ![]() And that's it for the narrated pictures. I'll have more pics up in the future without narrations. Last edited by ButeraFRS; 07-06-2016 at 10:12 PM. |

Also If you have any questions about the trip (Anything from routes to hotels to restaurants, ask me and I'll answer them)
Like I said, more un-narrated pics to come soon. |

@ButeraFRS - did you go on the Hartland Bridge? If so, how does that work? I checked it out on Google street view and there seems to be no traffic lights - only stop signs and it's only got one lane!
