Any updates?

1) Greasy tire mold release compound and lack of new treads ability to "connected" to the pavement. Also it was pointed out that old tires are likely close to bald giving the most dry traction possible..which mine were just barely at 2/32.

2) Hankook Ventus v12: I found lots of reviews that I missed about the softness of the sidewalls.

I have about 250 miles on them now and things do seem to be getting steadily less sloppy.

Thats a good point about the stickyness and suspension limit. Would stickier perhaps create more body roll? Sometimes it feels as if the wheels could slide left to right on the hub..which im sure is the feeling of body roll.

I've been hoping to run into some 86 groups around my area though! I haven't really been able to find anything specific on my regional forum but I will keep trying.

Thanks again!

I'm upwards of 800 miles on the tires now, and while things have gotten a LOT better..something still just feels off. The squirming has mostly dwindled away but the steering still feels numb and most aggrevatingly, unpredictable. Speed in the corners has picked up so much that I feel like Im cornering faster over the Primacies but it's a lot more nerve racking because out of no where you will just get this extra angle of body roll when you dont expect it.

Lastly it feels as if 30 degrees were added to the steering wheel. It just takes Soooo much to get any movement. Sometimes when Im doing 60 on the highway I just rapidly wiggle the wheel left and right seemingly 15 to 20 degrees and absolutely nothing happens.

I'm pretty much summing this up to the hankooks at this point but I still have nothing to compare on the new wheels. Here is an article I found that drew a lot of the same experiences.

Thanks for the update! Sounds like you're definitely experiencing a few of the same things mentioned in that other guy's review. Specifically this part:

"The car feels like it gained a good deal of body roll due to the sidewall structure of the tires being far too soft. This is also further demonstrated by the dramatic softening over bumps. High speed stability feels awful with the car floating around while switching lanes or making a change of direction. Throwing around the car in the twisties is a bit scary because there is often a discrepancy from where you point the car and where it ends up. This is due to the sidewall flex."

Perhaps these particular tires just aren't a good match for our cars?

I think they are more of a daily driver tire but then I think..why market them as a performance summer tire?? What also boggles my mind is how some people feel fine with them, even lots of people here on the forum seem to feel suited.
