Finally Picked Up the BRZ!

So I've been following this car since the concept was floating around the internet but was hesitant to make a deposit without test driving it.

After testing the FR-S a few weeks ago, I absolutely fell in love with it, bonus for being a sports coupe.

I was stuck debating between a comfortable, more luxurious car or a fun car for the longest time, and decided that I may as well have a bit of fun and can get the boring sedan later in life. I ended up deciding on the BRZ so that I can have a few nicer features than the FR-S.

Of course, I've also been lurking on this forum and know that the pre-orders are pretty long for the BRZ, as there's only 600 for all of Canada for the year.

Reluctantly I decided to call all the dealerships around the Lower Mainland as soon as I say that the cars were released (15th).

Sadly, everyone said that that they're not going to have enough for the year, or it would be the base model and they're not even sure when they would be getting anymore in. I believe Specialty was getting in 6, Dons 6, Wolfe 4, and Richmond claimed 17 with 74 pre-orders (LOL).

After almost giving up and settling for another vehicle, my friend suggested that I try the Interior, and as luck would have it there was a White Sport-Tech AT available that they just got in on the same day. Apparently a customer couldn't wait for so he ended up getting something else.

After a few days of discussing payment plans and deciding on a day to drive down to Vernon, I finally got it yesterday!

Me and my friend rented a car so we could drop it off and drive the BRZ back, so we drove out to Kelowna where Frede, my sales person picked us up and took us to Vernon. The weather was gloomy and rainy driving out from Vancouver to Kelowna, but the drive back was super fun. But the views & stop at Mission Hill was a bonus. Plus it helped break in the car.

Got it with 10km on it, and it's now sitting at 486km. It was a long day, but totally worth it. Only thing I regret is all the bugs on the windshield & grill. Will have to try to clean it off tomorrow, since it's late and I'm dead tired.

Pics (Tired, so only uploaded 3 pics):

Just before taking it off the lot.

Outside Mission Hill.

Some extra goods the finance service manager gave me that she got from the BRZ testing meeting in Ontario. What a sweetheart!

A major shout out to to everyone at Hilltop Subaru in Vernon who made buying this car a wonderful experience. Super friendly people who are truly passionate about their cars.

Congrats!

Are your front plates zip-tied? Is that where the plate goes usually or just from that dealer? Also, what's that next to the cap? BRZ lube? :p

Grats man. Sorry for the shitty weather here in the Okanagan! Was a nice day today finally. Can't believe how cloudy and rainy it's been this spring.

That plate location looks WAYYYYY better than those silly offset/tow hook mounts. I've seen many S2000 with this pate position, but didn't think it would work on BRZ (thought it would look like a chipmunk), but it looks very nice indeed!

Aren't you worried that it's blocking air though?

Yeah, it's zip tied, haha. My sales guy was like, I didn't let them drill in the holes cause I know I wouldn't. The little BRZ bottle is sunscreen. =p Getting ready for summer cruising.

Haha, thanks. But I'm female. It was really nice out there, even though it was my first time going into the interior. Now I'm interested in going back again when I have some free time. Also, it gives me an excuse to drive out further with the car.
...Just not loving the 100-200 bugs squished all in the grill and on the windows. I should've taken a picture. It was quite disgusting by the time i got back to Vancouver.

Hmm... I actually ordered the offset plate relocater, but I'm liking how it is now, though I'm not too sure about the air blocking, now that you mention it..

Oops, sorry!

Yeah, I really love the Okanagan. Hoping that one of these days I can take the car out and get some dusk shots with the lake/mountains in the background. Maybe one with a dragonfly before you smash it!

How do you put the plate there? Did you buy any plate kit to install that?

The plate is just held up by zip ties and the lower grille.

^ Yup. Might use the plate re-locator, but the way it's already set is starting to grow on me.

Yeah, I'm a bit worried about that, but I refuse to put holes into the front bumper. So I will probably just switch over to the plate re-locator once I get it.
