Scion released special editions every other year and 17 is an off year anyway. They also have no need to build hype this year.
I could be way off the mark but do not think we will see anything for 18. If we get trim levels for the 18s we may not see anything then either.

Not to pick nits but... There was an FR-S Monogram series for 2014, Release Series 1.0 for 2015 and now the 2016 Release Series 2.0. Seems like one a year to me. Plus, I’d think Toyota would want to shout the from the roof tops about the bigger, better, “new to the Toyota model range in North America” type 86.

Now I might be wrong but, I doubt Toyota is going let Subaru have the spotlight all to themself with the “Yellow Series”.

Looks as if I'm not the only one to think this. Hmmmm....
It’ll be interesting to see what transpires over the coming months.

I am not prepared to debate this topic. I expressed my thought out opinion. You asked why I held that opinion. I explained my thought process. The monogram is not really a special edition just a trim one time trim level and to the best of my knowledge there has been no confirmation of the yellow even coming to North America yet. Even if it is Toyota is not a child that thinks if Subaru gets one they should as well. There is no need to hype right now therefore no need to have anything special.

I claim no insider knowledge and am just speculating based on common treands in the industry. Like I said before I may be way off base but that is my opinion on the subject and I am not trying to make people agree. We will see.

I'm marking this down in my calendar.
Tcoat may have been wrong.
Possibly. His best guess. Wrong.

Personally I bet they will introduce a newer, uglier special edition each year. Forever.

(Okay, I liked the 2.0 but haven't actually seen one yet)

I'd like to point out that the FR-S Monogram was offered in the US for both MY 2014 and MY 2015.

It was MY14 only. I'd have ordered one if available in MY15.

Then a TRD Special Edition shows up after that.
