So those who went, what're your braking setups like?
I'm trying to have two sets of pads/rotors, one to daily drive, and one to go to ft devons for autox, and palmer for driving days and I'm trying to learn what pads would be appropriate for this track, and still have awesome initial bite for autox.

Been here twice now. Dirt and rock paddock is kind of annoying and seems small. I know NASA did an event there and with the number of people that go to NASA events I don't think I would have enjoyed it.

I do like the track. The uphill really makes our baby engines show. Looking forward to curbs and grass. I put 1 inch of tire off and it kicked up some pebbles and I got black flagged lol. Second time I went only couple dozen cars I felt like I had track to myself.

I found getting into second for the uphill made for better laps vs trying to keep it in third. That hill is steep

Any tips for the downhill off camber? Can't figure it out

Hey guys, I discovered the Palmer track recently, and was thinking about coming down there to give it a shot. Would you say it's worth it for a Canuck to make the trip? It would be about a 7 hour drive, so I'd have to make a weekend out of it.

Here's my home track, which is awesome in its own right: Calabogie Motorsports Park.

I used my OEM rotors with pMu HC+800 pads and they were fine. It's really not a brake intensive track.

Was there in May with BMW club for a two day event. Ran 235/45/17s RS3s on 17x9 with 100% stock brakes - totally fine. No fade, no issues. As another poster mentioned it isn't crazy brake intensive.

Anyone have experience at both Palmer and Thompson who could compare the two? I recently did a track night at Thompson, but have not been to Palmer yet...I'd be interested to see how they compare. I ran OEM brakes at Thompson and they were struggling to cope with the heat...my pads are pretty well fried right now...I need to pull them off and sand them a bit to see if I can get some of the initial bite back...

The BMW club event was solid. Two days that combines Boston with the Delaware Valley club. 8 instructed sessions, 4 classroom sessions, and I think it was $399. Would run with them again - good group.

Awesome, thanks! I'll keep an eye out for their future events.

There's also an SCCA Tracknight in America event coming up at Palmer on July 28th. $150 bucks for three 20 minute sessions is a pretty good deal, especially if you don't want to burn an entire day.

I did notice that, unfortunately I have a prior commitment on that night but otherwise I would go! Seems like a great deal

Well, there's also a Thompson track night on July 19. I can't compare it to Palmer since I've never been there, but the Thompson event seems pretty well run, based on my (first and only) experience there last week. We had a red flag situation the very first session which resulted in that session being scrubbed, however they made it up quite professionally later in the day. I'd have no qualms about going back for another event, based on that...
