Sal's new 86/FRS and GT4

Hi everyone,

My name is Sal, I live in Kitchener, Ontario. I've been following development on this car since rumor's were in the air about the Toyota and Subaru venture. It's and exciting time to be and own these wonderful little cars.

I am and have always been a Toyota fan. My previous 3 vehicles were All Toyota Celicas.

At 16, I started off with a black Celica GTS, At 18, got myself a rare 1 of 5000 GT-Four RC, and now own a rare GT-Four WRC 1 of 2100.

Here are some pictures of these cars:

I received my 86 Monday June 11th and it has been a blast to drive.

Comparing the GT4 to the 86, I can tell you right off the bat the 86 handles better with the factory suspension! There is no roll in the 86 which really impresses me about this car.

The GT4 in terms of speed is obviously the winner, but the 86 is pretty torqy surprisingly. I am driving still breaking it in so I am not redlining it yet!

Interior in the 86 is smaller then my Celica, but its surprisingly more roomier! The dead pedal is bigger, and the seats I think are just as comfy as the OEM Recaros my GT4 Has. The shifter is as smooth as butter for both cars, with the 86 Having the shorter gear throws. Back Seats for the GT4 are definitely more spacey though.

Here is a picture of my Celica and the Interior:

I'll post some pictures up of my new car now!

Here it is the day I picked it up!

First thing I did the same day I picked it up was rebadge the vehicle:

I also purchased the DC Sports 1011 exhaust tips to better compliment dat ass the 86 comes with.

Before:

After:

Here it is at my friends shop removing the DRL and just checking out the under body of the car:

It's hard to see, but here's a picture of the underbody:

And last night, I had the chance to change the lights to 5k HID's that my friend hooked me up with!

Crappy comparison of 5K Vs Stock:

Finished!

My plans for this car will be to have fun with it as a DD and take it open lapping every now and then. I plan to order suspension and fit the wheels my GT4 Currently sits on. Engine mods will be light with basic bolt ons I/H/E and a tune. But I am in no rush!

Enjoy!

I noticed you quickly debadged and re-badged, looks so much nicer. Nice HID also but at 5000K, it look so blue in that picture. What else do you have in mind next? Springs?

Love that GT Four. I wish we had gotten them here. The FRS is awesome too, except for the HID.

Thanks for all the comments! The HID's look alot better in person. The camera sucks on my Nexus.

Anyone know when the Perrin CAI will be available to the public?

I had the chance to do a full claybar wax/polish on the 86. Here are some photos!

Cleaning time for the AMG and 86

After the detail:

And this is why black is king

Clean up party!

How did you get those tips to fit? Don't they only fit 2 7/8" minimum?

Lots of countries have RHD vehicles. Also, Canadian vehicle import laws are a lot better than our laws in the USA.

OP, those Celicas are awesome! Congrats on the 86, too!!
