Yeah it is, I can only afford the registration/insurance for 1 car and the garage is full already. As a dd it's only heavy on fuel, but I didn't buy a rotary to be economical haha. I knew what I was getting in to

Since this thread is just titled after you and you are in FSAE, can I turn it into a "Ask 70NYD tougher than usual car questions"?

If yes, here's my first entry:

I'm looking at making some custom coilovers buuut... I don't know how to read a shock dyno graph, or what I should even be looking for.

I'm looking at 650 lbs/in front springs and around 375 lbs/in in the back.

This is about 41%/74% stiffer than stock.

The shocks are actually from a company that specializes in circle track cars, but that shouldn't make a real difference in the dampers job right? They are threaded aluminum body, twin-tube, can be mounted upside down, are fully re-buildable and re-valveable. And reasonably priced. In the circle-track community they are seen as a legitimate alternative to Bilsteins. The spring rates that they are designed for fall within the range of what I need.

But. They are not adjustable. They are available in a range of compression and rebound settings, and two different curves.

So I have to pick one of the two curves, and then the settings for comp/rebound (independent of each other ie I can pick a green compression line with a red rebound line) within the curve.

The setting numbers go from '2' for the green, increasing to '8' for the red. So if I order a 5/7 I get the purple line for compression and the blue line for rebound.

What exactly am I looking at with the force/velocity graphs? And how do they relate to the springs' rates?

(I will also be mixing and matching a front Whiteline anti-roll bar at full hard, with a Tanabe rear anti-roll bar, that will equate to about a 200% increase in the ARBs stiffness both front and rear.)

Just thought I'd throw this out there if it's up your alley, since we're still going to have a LONG wait after Geneva.
