Why, why is it that dealerships and their service centers are such asshats? I understand that customers can be a challenge but the one thing that ignores is ALL businesses have customers. ALL customers have similar complaints and quirks. Why does this portion of the auto industry get away with murder like this?
Because they can. They don't need or want his business. There are plenty more sheep lining up to get pushed through the fence

But I must be missing something. Even though there is another sucker right around the corner a warranty is like guaranteed payment right? Soa will pay. If they say it's one thing or the other is soa super critical on paying? Sounds like most times these dealerships don't even get to that point. They just deny all warranty work right out if they can. I'm sure I'm missing some detail.

This is a good point. The dealership must lose something on the deal otherwise they'd all be mod friendly and approve everything for warranty. Maybe they are only partially reimbursed?

Contact your county's Bar Association. They can refer you to an attorney and most will do a 30 min consult for less the $100. I think it would be worth it just in case (or good knowledge for down the road if this gets more messed up). Just keep up with SoA like others have said.

im guessing that the car companies must scrutinize each claim like an insurance company.

Because, frankly, more than a few have tried to pull a fast one.

(Subaru) Dealerships don't determine if your car is covered under warranty. They can only follow the instructions they are told on their tech line.

Dealers get paid out for warranty work. In fact, they WANT the warranty work, because it fills up more hours. Lower rate or not, more work means more profit.

The problem is, if the dealer jsut does the work and SoA denies it, then the dealer has to eat the cost.

Then there's the fact that SO MANY people try to say their car was not modded when it clearly was, and try to pull a fast one.

Dealerships are not stupid, but they will also protect themselves. They'd rather turn you away and lose a customer, than to deal with a nightmare.

yeah, I guess I just figured that if these dealerships are as shifty as they seem, seems like they wouldnt care if some was trying to get away with something. If it was something that was clearly feasible they would just do the work and turn it in to the car company. Unless like I said the car companies review claims as closely as ins companies.

I would get a lawyer who specializes in Magnuson-Moss law and force SoA to prove the vehicle was tuned in the manner that they describe.
Thought of this thread and that ^^ comment when I read this:

I have went round and round with the security systems on this platform you have 4 possible components that can cause this and I believe 3 different fuses and countless relays.
EDIT: if all else checks out such as a battery

1. body control module
2. instrument cluster
3. transponder for smart cars
4. ECU

I would find another dealer I will tell you first hand that guys is full of crap period...
He is a die hard subie guy that doesn't understand the hybrid BRZ
