Here's a highly controversial topic for you which is incredibly important:

Cake or pie?

I enjoy pie for recreation, but will be using my hard earned money on cake for now on until the government does something about all this pie violence.

I like pie over cake. Most cakes are too sweet for me.

My favorite dessert in the world is peanut butter pie from Green Chile Kitchen. But I do love yellow cake with chocolate frosting. Why must you make me choose??

Have you tried Chinese birthday cake? Very light sponge cake with whipped cream and fresh fruit. I work in a place that has a lot of Chinese folks and they aren't crazy with the regular American cakes so they started bringing these for bday celebrations and I really like it.

Oddly enough, I like ice cream cake. Haven't had one that was too sweet for my taste.

If it's like tres leches cake, then yes, I've had it. I like probably 80% of all tres leches cake I've had. I don't eat the frosting/top layer of them tho, since that's the very sweet part. hahaha

Because I am a foul, evil pastry temptress.

It's not really like tres leches. He's right - it's not overly sweet at all. The cake itself is lightly sweetened, as is the whipped cream. It relies mostly on the berries to do the sweetening. I really love it and find it almost refreshing to eat.

I work a block or so from Chinatown and some of my co-workers bring them in sometimes. They're VERY good and a nice change from the massive sugar bombs.
