Being Ripped off by ModBargains help me out!

Long story coming up, basically I bought these tail lights http://www.modbargains.com/helix-dep...ght-frs-sc.htm
And nothing met its description. I have videos and receipts.
After all of my time and money, all I've been offered is store credit which is unacceptable.

1) description said plug and play for years '13+, when I tried to plug it in it didn't fit, causing me to need to take it to a professional and spend $80 getting them on because it said "plug and play" yet the professional had to move a harness to get the tail light on.

2)Description said no hyper flashing yet there was, and on top of that my night lights were used when I hit a turn signal, my turn signal would come on when I tried turning on my night lights, and I had to night lights in general since there was no way to get them on. They claim that this was due to the lights being JDM and said that they needed a repin to USDM.

3)NOWHERE on the item desc did it state "plug and play" unless your car is '16. And NOWHERE did it state that the lights where JDM, causing somebody like me to find out after installation, they made it sound like that's common knowledge, it clearly is not. I could have boughten them on Amazon a lot cheaper but they STATED that they were JDM and would need a repin. I assumed they were USDM when I bought them because nowhere in the desc did it say a repin would be required.

4) Now that I've wasted $80 and a total of 2 hours in my garage before giving up because the light wouldn't fit and 4 hours at Currys Auto. I need to put the stock tail lights back on. So now I'm out another 2 hours and $45. Bringing us a grand total of 8 hours of my life gone and $125 down the drain.

Did you use a credit card? It would be quite easy to dispute it through them.

As far as the time wasted and money out for swapping tail lights (seriously?) a quick forum search would have cleared up your issues, and will still probably clear them up if you want to have those particular tails on your vehicle.

The real crime here, is that you could have spent a little more initially and gotten a set of TOM'S tail lights, which would work perfectly and look heaps better than those ugly things.

Your not going to want to hear it but my take:

1. After they did not work you took them to a shop to have them modified so hopefully they would work. I get that you probably wanted to get them on the car ASAP but you have now modified them and expect ModBargains to take them back when they don't even know what was done to them or if they can even resell them.

2. Because of you having a shop modify them we can never confirm if the hyperflashing was the product itself or caused by you. I'm not trying to put blame on you, you just have to realize how this looks to outsiders and the company who could think you are trying to rip them off on a return if you just don't like how it looks or you could be trying to return fake parts and keep theirs etc.....

3. Not every company's website is perfectly updated. If you were worried about compatibility why not give them a call especially when the similar ones you were seeing were listed as JDM and needed to be repinned?

4. We've all spent money on stupid things but I really think you only spent money making this harder for yourself.

Unfortunately this will probably work out for you and the vendor will have to capitulate to save their reputation on the forums and it just reinforces people's behavior of "I'm going to publicly complain when I am just as much at fault". This all could have been handled by a simple return when you received the parts and realized they were not compatible with your car.

TL;DR : If you modify purchased parts don't expect the retailer to take them back

See!
Easy when you get the right people involved instead of random posts on a forum.
I have yet to see ModBargains fail to resolve an issue on here.
