Random Thoughts - Part Deux [NO POLITICS]

Finally caught up with an old buddy from India. He told me that he was surprised and excited to see that I was the first one he knows to have a Twin.

Also told me there are none of these cars in India due to import plus road usage fees. 25k US would translate to near Porsche Cayman money.

But he does ride superbikes which I'm envious of, because I'm too scared to hop on one lol

Ahhhhh ......... yes! Brings back memories of my first motorcycle.

Yep, no helmet, T-shirt and shorts and a 9/16" wrench to keep putting the chain back on.

Hop on, @soulreapersteve , we'll scream down this gravel road at 35 mph and ..........I'll show you scared .........

I'm back for a check in after spending the last month doing home improvement every weekend for 12 hours a day every day. Also yard work in the evenings, which has gone from not too bad to unbearable in the heat department. All worth it though, the house is going on the market Tuesday. We shall see...

Not feeling it today...woke up like sick.

Anyway, at gas station friend gets out of car to pump gas for me. A mustang owner stops next to me and yells, "that a sports car? How can it be? Can't even beat my mustang... Hehe." I just rolled up window.

Then I see friend go up to em and talk while gas was pumping. Then dude comes over (chubby kid around 19-20) and says, "hey man, I'm sorry I didn't know the BRZs weren't like a corvette sports car." Friend breaks out laughing and I did too. Then we both said in harmony, "give us a 10 second head start before you drive away."

Haha he blushed.

Sweet ride. I remember seeing weird bikes like that putting around at fly-ins and small airports in general when I was a little kid.

Well, it's early Saturday evening here, sunny and about 75 degrees. A beautiful evening for a causal ride through the countryside in our FR-S.

So, mrs humfrz and I were cruising along this windy road, in spots. country road, when this jerk in a BIG red pick-up truck comes roaring up behind us and proceeds to tailgate us ..... really quite close.

My first instinct was to hammer down and watch the fool try to keep it on the road in the next set of curves ...... however, since mrs humfrz was with me, I just kept on cruising at about 35 MPH.

The jerk kept tailgating me so, the next straight stretch, I slowed down, moved off onto the side of the road and waived the ass-hole around. The jerk wouldn't pass and kept tailgating me.

I eased my hand into that pouch behind the passenger seat to make sure my ol .45 was still there, just in case.

The road came to a stop at a light, where there were two lanes, one to go straight, one to turn left. We were in the straight lane when the big red pickup truck slid up beside us and this woman driver YELLED out through her passenger side window "the speed limit on this road is 45 mph, you old fool, why don't you go at least the speed limit"??

Before I could speak, mrs humfrz, with her stainless steel tongue, yelled back "oh thank you SO MUCH for letting us know that" - with a big smile. I picked up and said "yes, thank you, that is good to know" - with a big smile.

The woman threw up her hand, peeled around the corner and sped off.

Am I getting old? Am I getting soft? What would you have done .... ??

Props to Mrs @humfrz for being a boss. Some people are just always angry. Can't help but feel bad for em. Maybe if she was driving an 86, she might be more at peace.
