After having recently installed a catless UEL header (Gruppe-s) I can tell you that there is a bit of a smell for less than 2 hours after installing it. After that the smell is totally gone... As for the noise, it gives it a bit deeper tone, but if you have an otherwise stock exhaust system its not a drastic difference and there is no drone on the highway.. Your wife will be able to hear a difference but its not loud enough to be annoying in any way..
That being said you may have better luck finding someone on this board that lives close to you that has a UEL with an otherwise stock system that could meet up with you and take you and the Wife for a spin in his/her car so you could get an idea of how loud it would be. |

Yeah, I plan to go to a meet soon with a buddy and maybe I can check out some cars with headers!

This is a no brainier: you will love it and you will enjoy every moment of it. It takes a few days for the system to work itself in, so the test fit experiment wouldn't give you realistic results. It will be extra loud in the first few days.
Unless someone is so sensitive to sound that it gives them headaches or something like that, |

My headers just got delivered... Im already in love with them and I haven't even looked at them yet (out of town)
Just buy a set lol if it were me I would not be "renting" them without a full deposit of the exact cost of new ones, no matter how trustworthy a person seems lol And even then, id have to have an extra set.. I mean the moment i get home mine are going on, not waiting even a day to hear it 😄 Sent from my LG-H812 using Tapatalk |

I don't even think this would logistically be worth it.
I think it's a pretty intense job to install headers (correct me if I'm wrong), so if you go through all the trouble to install them on your car, and DON'T end up liking them, that's a lot of work to put them on just to take them off again. My 2 cents. Makes more sense to hear someone else's car with them already on and broken in.

Anyways, I'll just wait to hear them in person at a meet...though I'm kind of leaning of leaving my stock headers and just getting the fp/op and be done with exhaust mods cause I'm already happy with the way the car drives on stage 1 OFT lol

Too not have people think I'm still looking to rent a header
