So this will count?

@Rafi@RR-racing

Maybe I'm not remembering this correctly, but wasn't there previously a rear option in between the Sport Performance and Stage IV?

If there was, what rotors did it use, and why is it no longer available?

Thanks,

Alan

Curious, Has anyone here tried AP racing CP8250D50 size pads? They are exactly the same dimensions as the wilwood 7420 except they are 5MM taller, so they should cover the missing disk area. In theory they shouls fit, since the AP racing sprint kit and Endurance kit use the same calipers, but the Endurace can use either pad, while the Sprint can only use the 7420, my guess its due to the disk size, and this kit has the same rotor size as the endurance

If they ever did they were either the same larger 4 piston calipers but with one piece rotors or they had the smaller four piston calipers but with the two piece rotors. I thought the performance line was NOT upgradable to two piece rotors, so maybe the former over the latter. My guess, and this is just a guess, was that the performance kit on the rear has better brake bias than the larger calipers unless you are running a giant wing for downforce then the larger makes sense and at that point, most running a giant wing are likely full track, meaning they want two piece rotors, so why offer the other option? Just a guess.

All of the reading I can do says both the D41 and D50 series pads will fit but I have no idea what the changes in pad area will do to brake torque/bias if anything.

Directly from rr-racing page

"Please note that to fit OEM 17 inch wheels, please buy 5 mm spacer available as a suggested product at the bottom of this page."

You should be able to use either pad, but we have not tested it. Increasing the pad area will not change brake torque or bias.

The advantage of bigger pads is that they should be more heat tolerant. That said, we already have some race teams who use our kits removing the brake ducts as the brakes are not getting up to temp, at least on NA cars.

So I have had a loud clunk coming from both front wheels when I come to a stop or go from reversing to going forward, I figured that it was the end links being loose or being broken or something but I realized today that there is some play of the rotor on the hub as the PCD holes in the rotor aren't the same diameter as the studs... is this okay or are the impacts dangerous for those studs, also is anyone else having this problem or did I just get a bad set of rotors? :/

thats weird (and sounds sketchy as hell to me). my rotors had zero play and they fit right over my hubs just like the factory rotor hats did.

With the wheels on the rotors shouldn't even be able to move around, so it shouldn't matter if the holes are a bit bigger.

I'm in love with this kit, just tested them at the track at salinas speedway yesterday and I managed to get a full 2 seconds off my best time with fresher rubber and the BBK. The car slowed down so much faster and felt so stable and confident that I was pushing my braking zone farther and farther after each lap. My best lap ended up being 1:11.09 secs from my previous 1:13.0

In august I'll know exactly how much of an improvement the BBK alone had on the track I normaly race at where I ran with brand new rubber and OEM brakes with Raybestos ST43 pads. But between Salinas speedway and Ponce Speedway, we have a 20sec difference in lap times and my best time at ponce has been 1:32.28, so with the conversion, the kit by itself should have netted me a 1 sec improvement over the OEM system.
