Objective performance comparisons? They 'll have to put old and new base car in a racetrack and measure times with same driver. Who will do this?

Until now I just see marketing ...

I must be apart of the minority because I really like the looks of the 2017 Toyota 86. It's definitely going to be much harder to choose between purchasing this and a 2017 BRZ now. The only reason I would select the BRZ over the upcoming Toyota 86 is if the interior to the Toyota 86 still has the cloth material on everything like the FRS does. The interior of the existing line of BRZ, mix of leather and alcantara, feels and looks much more premium.

And point-9 financing was the cherry on top.
Congratulations on your new 2016 MT FR-S with TRD 18's and some sticky rubber!
Agreed the 2017 front fascia is not very appealing. However, will the 2017 refinements eliminate the much discussed torque dip of the 1st gen?

It seems likely since they said power was improved in the mid range. But a header and tune is cheaper than a new car so definitely not looking to trade up

Us? lol See what we can do... but first, need to get a hold of Toyota US to let us do that.

Will these mods impact the warranty?

Wouldn't get too excited unless the BRZ still has the old engine.
Check out the pic of the gauge (second row, two down)

I see the blue torque line still has a dip. Is this from a 2017? Please tell us more. Thanks!

I'd wait for the actual test drive reviews...

Maybe. Depends on what breaks. You can remove the headers and flash back to stock if you need to though. Obviously no torque dip with full warranty is better than without it but it's not worth forfeiting the depreciation on a car you already own.
