Again, I think that we have established a consensus that these are simply tacky exterior add-ons playing on the theory of having positive aerodynamic effect.

from my discussions with several engineers specializing in aerodynamics, small curvatures and shapes along a smooth streamlined surface can cause many different intended effects.

Those B pillar add-ons are NOT vortex generators, and are not intended on making early onset vortisies to aid detached drag. They are intended to change the direction and speed up air flow in certain areas.

Toyota is claiming that these small changes along the cars body do have a specific function in aerodynamics. As seen here...on the Camry.

Why those same shape profiles are located on the Zx6's B-pillar specified by Toyota, it is still not entirely understood we can rest assured they are not mainly tacky add ons..thanks to similar profiles on the LFA

Same profile on BRZ/FRS tail lamp

Damn, nothing else is really moving me aside from the Toyota offerings and C-West.

5AD's kit is ok. I do appreciate how it follows the lines of the car.

Would love to see if Subaru has something to offer for the BRZ.

C-West kit looks unrefined ...

It's as if they had a great idea but didn't finish it off.

I think, I've posted about this, but on the taillight's thing is a vortex maker. Tada-san himself have stated on this one.

iirc he said that he got that shape/design from one of the fish? It's proven to help.

As for B pillar ones, I'm not 100% sure. I need to ask him on that one.

Edit:
One the Japanese Toyota site, their actual production name is 「エアロスタビラジングフィン」... which translation to "Aero Stabilizer Fin" and it explains
「F1で蓄積された空力技術を結実させたエアロスタビライジングフィンをリヤピラーに配置。気流に小さな渦 を発生させて車体を左右から押さえつけ、操縦安定性を確保します。」
Whole thing a nutshell, it helps put more down-force on the car.

I don't even think you can call that a lip kit it's like diffusers all around. I do however like the vortex generators on it.

The c west (1) is kind of meh. It seems like its just a copy of the front. But the rest is cool, especially if paired with the 5ad spoiler.

C-West (2) has a more aggressive front that I like a little better.

I like the look of this one, but damn, what are Japanese websites obsession with low resolution pics? It's 2012; we're not browsing the web from some weak old phone with no memory.

You are the man! lol

I really like the lip kit and its simplicity. 2000 dollar price tag though, plus export is pretty steep.

I don't like any of them. I think the BRZ stock front bumper looks the best and I like the trunk with no spoiler at all. I do however like the idea of this thread and will reference it every now and then.
