I am allowed 30k miles annually (though I am woefully below that, sitting at around 51k total for more than 3 and a half years of driving).

Originally, the goal was to simply buy it out, but coming down to the wire it's looking like a loan payment on the bought out car, plus private insurance, might cost more than $300 a month. I could get a dealer lease for another FR-S or maybe even something else, but that's probably the least preferred option.

Right now all I can really do is hurry up and wait. Once the website that orders the lease updates to the 2017 I will see how much of a price jump the Toyota gets before making an ultimate decisions (which will most likely be buying out my current lease).

BUT a loan gets paid off, then you don't have a car payment any more. It's an investment while a lease is not

I understand car's is an investment, but still dont understand why a sport car is an investment. Soon or later you will dump load money to mod it. At the end of the road you spend the double or more than the initial cost of the car.

Buying a car is rarely a sound investment.
Some old classic garage queens may pay off in the long run, but a new(ish) mass production car is losing money even without mods.

I can help spread word around the area and get a WA state caravan going, then we merge or simply meet up with the OR state peeps, finally cruising on down all together.

A car is most certainly NOT investment. Sure maybe if you buy one and keep in a garage for 30 years with no miles on it but ain't nobody got time for dat. The value only decreases everyday. You buy it with money you already paid income tax on, you then pay sales tax on the purchase, property tax to keep it, registration fees, and insurance. Not to mention interest if you took a loan. Plus maintainace and tolls etc.. a car is absolutey the worst "investment" known to man. They get you coming and going. You ever wonder how these guys living in the city can afford crazy apartments and helicopter rides? They don't own cars. If they need to leave the city they either fly or rent a car for the weekend.
