Concrete/Foundation experts!
worth a try here.
the fence guy putting in posts accidently hit the foundation membrane that keeps the moisture out. it's about 3-4 inches across and 6 inches down. not sure if it's repairable but I was able to take the flap and tuck it under. when the concrete gets poured it will hopefully get pushed/sealed up. wondering if this would be ok? here are the pics before I tucked in the flap ![]()

Paint it up with thick, gooey foundation sealer. Should be able to find something comparable in a quart can rather than a 5 gal bucket.
What you don't want is for the cement to fill the voids behind it when you pour.

i was thinking that since i was able to push the flap in and make it flat, that maybe i'll just put gorilla tape over the cuts |

why not?
the flap is tucked back underneath so there's no hole anymore, but the tape along the cut would just make sure it's in place edit: after giving some thought. you are right. i should put some kind of sealant in the back, then seal off the seam, then tape it off. BUT, the issue of liability comes in to play..... so i could let the contractor fix it and hopefully fix it the way i want it. Last edited by Atticus808; 06-09-2016 at 02:35 PM. |
