I randomly met an old work buddy from about 4 years ago at an auto-x event last month. We even drive the same car

Luckily, we were pretty chill or else it would've been awkward.

Nah, dipped my toes into cybersecurity so I read past stories on disgruntled workers wrecking havoc on company computers/servers/data. I've left all my past jobs on pretty good terms, though didn't tell anyone except the boss.

Not counting my Chickens just yet, there was a section on the offer letter that needed clarifications. So We'll see how things go, I'll update later. I don't want to sign anything that isn't super clear.

Just send a witty goodbye note. Nothing nasty just something funny that leaves people thinking better of you than the management that gave you reason to leave. Then everyone will hate the jerk even more for making such an entertaining guy leave.

As example: had a co-worker who sends the same good-bye note everytime he leaves a post saying he is changing careers. He goes on to state that he's decided to become a pirate and he's extending an invitation to anyone who is interested in joining him as his first mate. It's funny and well written and kind of thumbs his nose at the seriousness of the whole process of having to leave. I like it.

Have no idea what you do but many of the specialized types of jobs can result in the same contact over and over. I have frequently had to deal with old bosses and coworkers and it would have been horribly awkward if things had been tense.
Hell, my last job I hired my replacement and went back for 2 days a week after he started to go through all of the systems with him!

Hah, I used to go on political and religious rants for reasons I can't remember. Scrolled back a few years and the cringe is real.

Now all I do is look at anime and car stuff.
