I had the dealer install the new bracket and SD card last weekend. Was a painless experience as I called them up, they ordered the parts, they called me when they were in, and I scheudled an appointment which took less than an hour to complete. No issues thus far.

Funny that you should bump this.. I've had this issue twice now since ownership and the second time happened this past weekend after my car was out in a major thunderstorm. Since all the GPS and head unit parts are under the dash, I'm not sure if its related to the storm at all.
But I was not aware of the TSB. I think I'd rather just have the dealer apply a permanent fix rather than fiddle with it myself. Real scary/annoying when GPS randomly stops working when you're in the middle of driving somewhere completely unfamiliar. |
