Two or three times a week. I have named all the trees at this point. Say hello to Bret Birch up by Tilbury next time you go past.

Am I the only one that waves at any Subaru I see on the road even the old imprezzas or is it just me? Lol
I swear I have only run into one BRZ or FRS in the past 2-3 weeks. Luckily one waved back on Mapleview in Barrie few days ago! Just moved to Barrie so I'm racking up the mileage driving from Mapleview all the way to Rexdale to work. Honk and wave me down if I see you. I will give you a salute! |

White BRZ, northbound on Dixie, North of King Road this morning at around 8:20am. I was south-bound on Dixie; flashed my high beams and gave the bunny ears, and got a honk back. Looked like it had black wheels but couldn't tell for sure.
Hikari edition BRZ headed West-bound on Derry at Dixie around 8:50am this morning. I was still south bound on Dixie waiting at the light at Derry but was behind too many cars to try to wave or anything.

I don't know why you're worried about a new-ish car making a simple 5 hour drive...even a 20-hour drive to Florida should be no problem.
Mine's been to my cottage 3 times already (near Renfrew; 4.5 hour drive door to door one-way), and to Windsor a couple of times, not to mention Wasaga and all over the GTA. No issues. I even did the cottage trip once in my '88 Porsche 944 that I used to have. If a finicky, 30-year-old German sports car with 200k, a broken temp gauge, broken e-brake, bad 2nd gear synchro, and no A/C can make that trip with no issues, your nearly-new Japanese car should have no issue at all. Keep in mind that I'm almost 6'6 as well, and I actually find this car to be quite comfortable on long trips, with a few stops to stretch out my legs of course.
