On topic, I think highest I got was 126 on a downhill with a tail wind. And I relieved myself before hand.

On topic, my top speed at Calabogie Motorsports Park is 170kph (105mph) on the back straight in a 100% completely bone stock BRZ.
It is the fastest I've ever travelled.

Long Read Intended
![]() “Race Conflict thesis" is a historiographical approach within the history of science which maintains that there is an intrinsic intellectual conflict between street and track racing and that this inevitably leads to public hostility. This thesis retains support among some scientists and in the public, while most historians of science do not support the original strict form of the thesis, …because street racers paved the way for professional racing. This race conflict thesis, which holds that track and street racing have been in conflict since the 1930s or 1940s in Southern California and was popularized by the introduction of “gow job”; a term relating to “hopped up” and referred to improving the speed and handling of inexpensive automobiles. It was during the 1950s that a relationship between street and track racing became an actual formal topic of discourse, while before this no one had pitted street against track or vice versa, though occasional complex interactions had been expressed. Most contemporary moderators ‘on origin’ now reject race conflict thesis in its original form and no longer support it. Instead, it has been superseded by subsequent historical research which has resulted in a more nuanced understanding: for example FT-86 Club Site Moderator, ichitaka05, will state multiple times, "Please follow Forum Rules" rather than immediately ban someone from the forum, Most historians today have moved away from a race conflict model, which is based mainly on two historical episodes (this and that) for a "complexity" model, because racers were on both sides of each dispute and there was no overall aim by any party involved to discredit driving a Twin. On another note, I have learned another very important ‘Twin’ lesson, or two, which I will now share. Besides a few motorcycles I have owned, I have never had “feelings” for any of my vehicles, until I picked up my BRZ, which my wife of 43 years now calls, “my second wife.”Years ago I belonged to a Triumph TR-4 forum, because one of the vehicles I owned… and really, really liked, was a TR-4. (fwiw) I could take one apart and put back together, in a manner of speaking, in my sleep. ![]() A number of years ago a fellow TR-4 owner picked up a FR-S and raved about how cool it was, how the handling was similar to our ‘4s, and suggested I test drive one. (fwiw/mechanic speak) We both had TR-3 blocks bored out to 4.0 in our ‘4s because the water sleeve on the ‘4 block was to close for that large of a bore and the ‘3 block could handle it. Anyhow, my wife decides to upgrade vehicles and gets a new Forester ~ ((fwiw) she drove Triumph and BMW motorcycles during the late '60s and early '70s). In the meantime, I decide to purchase (what I consider to be) my final car (due to age) and settled on a “Racing Yellow Cayman S” because it reminded me of another one of my favorite vehicles; a yellow 1978 Lancia Beta Coupe. My wife asks me to pick up something at the Subaru dealership for her and when I arrive, sitting near the front door, was what ended up being my new ‘Limited’. We went back the next day and about one hour, five minutes later the BRZ was mine. Everyone commented that was the fastest sale they had ever seen there. ![]() Since I have been criticized for some of the things I have done to my vehicle, and never took the time to try and explain why, I will do that now. Hypothetically, I assumed Subaru BRZ engineers had done the very best job they could do with the vehicle based on corporate consumer constraints, and that the vehicle could be improved on. So, suspension / tires / wheels is where I focused and modded on. The only speed enhancement was to add a WORKS High-Flow Drop-In Air Filter (for breathing) and remove or replace a lot of extra vehicle weight. In my mind, I have greatly improved the handling of my vehicle and to this moment am still happy with every mod. As far as speed and racing with my BRZ == that is not why I bought it. I bought it, because of the way it handles on all the twisty roads that surround me and am pretty much a “cruise control driver” on public roads. If I really want to go fast, I can always go to Utah; it’s easy and not beyond me, or I can go back to auto-x or rallying, which brings me to something else I want to say. By entering the word race in a craigslist, by-owner only, cars+trucks search box, I have discovered a number of nicely done vehicles for auto-x that cost about one third (1/3) of what I have currently invested in BRZ mods. If I return to racing, this will be the route I will now be headed! http://sfbay.craigslist.org/search/cto?query=race Finally, to those I privately explained who, how, why, and what …I left out a number of significant parts, because none of you were old enough to remember Sears Point or a driver there who was labeled “The Astronaut”, or a photo which described it, that was in the club room… but I digress…On Topic Again: (btw) My top speed (iirc) is around 72 +/- mph because I had to outdrive a truck pulling into my lane on the freeway, that did not see me. If available, I am sure the nanny will verify this.

Edit haha I first wrote 136. Hell no. Not 136. 126. Small private(?) Airport that's abandoned. Maybe from cold war era? Dunno.

That happens when the rubber band is almost unwound, power drops dramatically.
